“I had lunch at The Sportsman recently. My friend is vegan and the staff were very helpful and checked ingredients in her menu choices to ensure everything was suitable for her. I had one of my rescue dogs with me, he was made very welcome and made a big fuss of. He behaved impeccably enjoying treats from the jar on the bar. ”

“Lunch was the highlight of my day on Sunday. The snails were beautifully cooked. It was a brave trial for me as I would only pick a dish like this in France . I was more than impressed. Many thanks to the chef who came out with this wonderful dish. Friendly staff and excellent service despite a busy afternoon. It's a pleasure sharing a wonderful time with those lovely dogs in the pub. Finally, brownie points to my friend's boyfriend who recommended this pub. Lynn May 2012”

“I am just writing to say that we had a lovely lunch yesterday at the Sportsman. We had our grandson, Finn, with us and were delighted to find a place laid for him at the table. The staff were lovely towards him. We enjoyed our meal very much and were impressed with the menu. Many thanks, Margaret Y”
