Relax as you cruise the waterways of the Yorkshire Moors on The Leeds and Liverpool Canal. Not only the longest canal in Northern England at 127 miles, it is also one of the most beautiful, crossing the Pennines with 91 locks and a summit level of 487 feet.

Our bearBOATING hire base is ideally placed to cruise the best the Leeds/Liverpool has to offer, exploring stunning countryside as well as the industrial heritage of the canal. Take in the delights of Saltaire Model Village and World Heritage Site. Navigate Bingley Five-rise lock staircase – considered the most spectacular feature of the Leeds/Liverpool. Cruise into Skipton – Gateway to the Dales with it’s wonderful market and fascinating castle. Cross the border into Lancashire where the canal meets the Pennine Way. See East Marton’s double bridge and follow in a Cows footsteps as you traverse the mile long Foulridge Tunnel.

As well as the breathtaking scenery, there is a wide variety of wildlife to be seen along the way. Swans, Herons, Jays, Dragonflies and if you are really lucky Kingfishers and Otters.

Our Boats - mollyMOO and jessicaBOO are both fitted out to the highest standard with hand built oak kitchens and fitted furniture throughout. Granite worktops, full size fridge and oven as well as SONOS sound system and Reko lighting. With central heating the boats are warm and cosy even in the cooler months and the tiled flooring means both boats are dog friendly. We even provide welcome packs for our four legged friends as well as details of walks and dog friendly pubs and cafes along the route

Training

If you are new to boating or just needing a refresher we offer a range of courses at our RYA approved Training Centre. This could involve obtaining an Inland Waters Helmsman's Certificate or just becoming accustomed to our boats and the peculiarities of the Leeds Liverpool Canal.We would recommend that anyone new to either boating or the Leeds Liverpool Canal attends one of the days. One day spent with the instructor will greatly enhance the enjoyment of a weeks cruise on the canal. It should fill you with confidence and make the first day aboard a stress free start to your holiday.Training days are not mandatory however and we will ensure that everyone who charters our boats is fully trained before being left to enjoy their cruise.For more information or to reserve a place on one of our courses please contact us by calling 07969 901383 or emailing us on
