Barkers Dog Day Care and Home Boarding in the New Forest
Day Care Service
Barkers is a small private company which offers dog day care, dog home boarding and pet care services for Burley and the surrounding areas.
We can provide a caring and completely supervised day care service for your dog If you need to escape for a day.
With our day care service your dog will spend their entire day in our company and when we're not out walking, they will be joining in with us and relaxing in our home or playing in our garden. We will make sure they feel safe and happy. We are not kennels and they will never be by themselves.
Home Boarding
Holiday times, weekends away... Your dog can stay with us, in our home, joining in with whatever we do. At weekends this often entails a long walk in the country followed by a pub lunch!
During the day they will get long walks in the forest or by the beach and in the evenings they will be in our home, lying in front of our TV. During their stay with us we will endeavour to do all we can to make them feel at ease and as comfortable as possible.
Please bear in mind that spaces are limited and we get booked up very quickly.
At Barkers we offer wonderful walks which are individually tailored to suit your dog in lovely locations either by the sea, in the forest or over the hills and far away!
Do you want your dog walking? Whatever your need, be it work, a day away, a holiday or perhaps injury or illness we can help. We will collect your dog and walk them in a fun, secure, dog friendly location and return them relaxed and happy.
Regular or occasional dedicated dog walking with a choice of half hour walks, one hour walks or longer...whatever suits your boy or girl. Walks can be solo or in a small friendly group of well socialised dogs.
We provide a reliable, experienced and responsible service for you and your dog...Plus a lot of fun!

Dog Walking
We bring well socialised and friendly dogs together so they can get the exercise and play they need during the day. Most days we're at Hengistbury Head or Steamer Point where the dogs play, chase each other, run in the sand, meet other dogs and swim if they can! Or else we're in the woods and forest... St Catherine's Hill, Hurn Forest, Holmsley and other parts of the New Forest to name a few.
Solo Dog Walks
We appreciate that not all dogs want to be walked alongside other dogs. If your dog can’t be let off lead or prefers to be walked on their own then we can take them for a lovely walk by themselves, somewhere they enjoy and will feel more at ease.
Half Hour Walks
Sometimes a half hour walk is all that's required, just to make them feel comfortable and get them out for a little while. A half hour walk can also be more suited to the more senior 'ladies and gents'.
We provide half hour puppy walks which are available for pups up to 6 months old. We can help them with their socialisation by taking them walkies with the older dogs to ensure they become confident and comfortable around other dogs at an early age.
Longer Walks
For those tireless 'boys and girls' we can offer LONG walks!... With no more than two dogs we head out to the Purbecks and South Dorset or towards Cranborne, Blandford and Shaftesbury. These walks will usually involve your dog for the entire day and predominately take place at the weekends but please enquire should you require this walk during the week as we don't need much of an excuse to head further afield with an eager pal!
