Gambledown Farm - Dog Friendly Glamping in Romsey, Hampshire

Having had 5 years experience in glamping, in May 2019 we installed five of our own brand new luxury safari tents, giving our guests the ultimate exclusivity in glamping farm stays. Spread across a large field high in a corner of the farm the glamping tents have spectacular views of the Test Valley and the Salisbury plains and can be rented from April - October.

The Safari Tents
The tents open onto the living, dining and kitchen area, where a wood-fired stove keeps the space lovely and warm in the chillier months. There's a comfy sofa to relax on and the dining area can seat 6, with high-chairs available to hire for little ones.

Everything you'll need to cook can be found in the kitchen; a gas hob, sink, kettle, pots, pans, all the normal utensils, a cafetiere, crockery, cutlery and even children's cutlery. Food is kept cool by way of cool box and ice blocks. Each tent has a Weber barbecue stationed outside for the true glamping experience. Gambledown steaks, burgers, sausages and bacon can be added to your booking as a BBQ or breakfast hamper, or purchased in our farm shop.

Sleeping arrangements consist of a master bedroom with king sized bed and a second bedroom with twins beds. A cosy double cupboard bed is tucked into the wall which easily sleeps two children and has plenty of storage underneath. We have travel cots available to hire for infants.

Each tent is fitted with an internal bathroom; a hot water shower, normal flushing loo and basin.

A fire pit for huddling round on tree stumps, toasting marshmallows is positioned outside, and a sizeable front deck with adirondack chairs complete each tent, perfect for taking in the scenic views.

Glamping essentials such as extra fire logs, coal, firelighters, marshmallows, Gambledown meat, local ice cream, and tea & coffee can all be bought on site in our farm shop.

We host a pizza night every Saturday and Tuesday during high-season for our Glampers using our wood-fired pizza oven and have a variety of toppings available, please let us know in advance of your stay if you'd like to come along.

Whilst ideal for group bookings, please note that we do not accept stag or hen parties.

The Farm
At Gambledown Farm we invite guests to have a taste of country life, enjoying fresh clean air,  quality homegrown produce and laid back time with friends and family.

Our family has been farming at Gambledown for over 50 years. Gambledown Farm, practicing sustainable farming, is a traditional Hampshire mixed farm with a resident herd of over 30 Shorthorn cattle, arable crops and ancient woodland.

Glamping guests have the opportunity to hire their own chicken coup just outside their tent for the freshest eggs possible at breakfast, just simply add one as an extra when booking. Guests staying in our luxury barns are welcome to collect eggs from our free range enclosure.

Each spring Gambledown adopts a number of orphaned lambs from our neighbouring farm and welcomes children to help with bottle feeding at meal times.

At the farm there are always animals to visit, our herd of cattle can be found munching their way through the cover crops, a couple of pigs, Taggy the horse and Nibbles and Oreo our pet sheep.

From the farm there are excellent walks through the countryside taking you to authentic country pubs or into the rural market town of Romsey and beyond.
