West Withy Farm Cottages - Dog Friendly Accommodation in Exmoor, Somerset

Our cottages are located in beautiful Exmoor countryside between Wimbleball Lake and Clatworthy Reservoir – we are about one mile from each.

Nestling on a 23 acre farm, close to the Exmoor towns of Dulverton and Dunster, you will look out from your dog friendly, self-catering holiday cottage on green fields toward Haddon Hill in the distance.  Your nearest neighbour is over half a mile away.



Our cottages were converted from two Exmoor stone barns in the mid 1980’s to create extremely spacious, characterful, dog friendly holiday cottages.  West Withy Farm cottages have been welcoming visitors now for 30 years.

Each cottage’s character – huge beams and 50 cm solid stone external walls is now complemented by modern internal facilities.  Cottages have integrated kitchens, free standing showers, full central heating, double glazing and private, enclosed, dog friendly gardens.  They provide a modern home surrounded by beautiful Exmoor countryside for you on your dream holiday.

Our Facilities
Here are some of the facilities that you will find outside your cottage door and in the grounds at West Withy Farm.

But first. here are the things you will not hear (and smell) – cars, planes, trains, pneumatic drills, loud voices (except your own).  Just silence interrupted by bird song , running water and perhaps laughter.

Our nearest neighbours are about 1000 meters away – you can just about see their house.



Stable Cottage (sleeps 4 + cot)
Converted from the farm’s historic stables in the mid 1980’s (think pre tractor days of horse drawn carts), Stable Cottage is a detached, all on one level, cottage.



It has a large lounge, dining-kitchen-living space overlooking the garden and with views to the lake.  This is complemented by two large bedrooms.



Original features include solid stone , 50cm thick external walls, huge ceiling beams and very wonky, 30cm. thick solid stone internal walls.

Stable Cottage sleeps four in two bedrooms.



Upton Cottage (sleeps 5 + cot)
Converted from the farm’s historic haybarn in the mid 1980’s (think storage of food for cows to eat in winter), Upton Cottage is a detached, two storey cottage with far reaching views across green field to Haddon Hill.



It has a large, contemporary living space of lounge, dining and integrated kitchen, opening onto a 500 square meter, fully fenced lawned garden.



This is complemented by 3 upstairs bedrooms.

Original features include 50cm. thick, solid stone walls and original air vents.
Upton Cottage sleeps 5 in 3 bedrooms.
