Webber Hill Farm - Dog Friendly Accommodation in Okehampton, Devon

Webber Hill Farm (no longer a working farm) is peacefully located on the edge of Dartmoor National Park, between Sampford Courtenay & Okehampton, in rural mid Devon. A family run business, we are set away from main roads, reached along an unmade track, yet just 1.5 miles from the A30, making day trips into Cornwall easily accessible.  Tucked away between fields, our secluded location is ideal for exploring quaint Devon villages, the Devon and Cornwall coasts with their dramatic cliffs and beautiful beaches, and the moors of Dartmoor, Bodmin and Exmoor.

There is plenty to do nearby, whether you love walking, cycling, golf, horseriding, watersports, visiting beautiful gardens and historic houses, or simply relaxing.

We hope you will enjoy a stay in our holiday cottages.  We take pride and care in presenting them to a high standard.  You can find out what steps we are taking to protect you against Covid-19 on our website.

Both cottages have fully enclosed gardens, tiled floors, stair gates, and muddy paw/boot washes, all of which owners tell us makes their lives much easier on holiday!  Muddy and non-muddy dog walk options from the door!

Dreamcatcher, is our detached 1 bed barn conversion, with room for an extra guest on the mezzanine (futon bed), and Moonseeker is the old milking parlour next to the farmhouse, converted by us, with love, for 4 people in 2 bedrooms - each bedroom has an ensuite shower room.

Underfloor heating and wood burning stoves ensure that you will be cosy and comfortable even for winter breaks – and you can be assured we will give you a warm welcome!

And perhaps most importantly we provide you with privacy. We are available if you want to ask us a question or need help with something, but we also respect that this is your time and holidays are precious.

Dreamcatcher is a spacious, detached, self catering holiday cottage with its own enclosed garden, underfloor heating and facilities that make it a real home away from home. Free WiFi is available throughout the cottage.

All on one level, this cottage may be suitable for people with walking difficulties.  There is a full accessibility statement on our website on the Links page.

The lounge area has a 42" Freesat TV with CD/DVD player, woodburner with an initial supply of logs and kindling.  There is a comfy sofa and a leather armchair.

In the shower room has a large shower with power shower. We supply bath and hand towels (1 each per person), but we don’t allow the towels to be used for the beach so please bring your own beach towels.

In the bedroom is a 6ft Superking size bed. It has a sumptuous topper, so you won't feel the zip down the middle.  If you would like single beds then we can make the bed up as two 3ft singles.

On the mezzanine reading area you will find a cosy day bed, along with some yoga mats should you wish to try a few stretches. We also have a 4ft futon which can be made up as a bed if required for a small additional charge. The mezzanine  has hanging space, chest of drawers and bedside cabinet.

Outside in the secluded, private garden, you will find outdoor table and chairs, and a barbeque. We also provide a rotary washing line.

The parking for Dreamcatcher is just outside the back door.

Moonseeker
Sleeps 4.  We regret we cannot accept children under the age of 8

Moonseeker is on the opposite side of the garden to Dreamcatcher, Once upon a time it was the milking parlour, but we have converted it to have a very 'contemporary meets traditional' feel.  It has a very private and secluded south-west facing back garden, underfloor heating throughout and free wifi.

The layout downstairs is open plan, with the lounge and kitchen separated by a grand central staircase, made by the owner.  The handmade kitchen is very spacious with a farmhouse table and 4 chairs.  The cooker is an LPG range cooker with 2 gas ovens and 8 burners - ideal for keen cooks! Additionally there is a microwave, dishwasher, washing machine and undercounter fridge with a separate freezer. We supply dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid, cloths etc as well as oven gloves, tea towels, kitchen towels, and aluminium foil.

With its woodburning stove and underfloor heating Moonseeker is also ideal for cosy, winter breaks on the edge of Dartmoor National Park.

Both bedrooms have ensuite shower rooms, with large shower enclosures, power showers, heated towel rails, loo and hand basin.  We provide one hand towel and one bath sheet per person as well as a hairdryer. The Superking bed can be split into a twin on request.  Bedroom 2 has a king sized double bed.

The garden is fenced and walled and very private, with patio furniture on a decked area, a raised lawn and small shrubbery.

Bringing your Pet
Your pet is very welcome in our cottages, and we have some lovely local walks, but we do have some conditions that we ask you to carefully consider before booking.  Full details can be found on our website.  We charge a supplement of £25 per pet per stay and our usual maximum is 4 pets.

We provide bowls, paw wiping towel, throws and. Pets are not allowed upstairs in either cottage, but are allowed on the furniture provided the throws are used and you may want to bring more clean throws of your own.   This is out of respect for our non-pet owners and allergy sufferers, who may be the next guests in.  In Dreamcatcher pets are allowed in the bedroom, which is on the ground floor,  but not permitted on the bed.

With enough notice we can arrange to pet sit for you if you want to go out for a short while to the shops or for a meal out in the evening.

If you want to bring a pet other than a dog, they are also welcome but please telephone to speak to Nicky on tel:07519 710740 so that we can discuss your needs.

Reviews

“Lovely cottage and fully enclosed garden. Could not fault in any way. Owners very welcoming and home baked cake on arrival. Cottage well equipped and very comfortable. Would not hesitate to recommend.”

- D Lee

“We have had a fantastic stay in Dreamcatcher and will be returning. It is beautifully renovated to a high standard, clean, comfortable and everything you will need. Superb for dogs with it's own private, enclosed garden at the front and parking behind at the rear door. Dartmeet is a great place for the dogs to have a splash in the water. It is centrally located with easy access to Dartmoor, the coast and Cornwall. Whilst the kitchen is a joy to cook in there are plenty of places to eat reasonably priced. Nicky and Trevor are lovely hosts who were on hand if required otherwise you were left alone to get on with your holiday. Of all the welcoming touches the cake was a real winner which we took slices of cake and a flask out to eat on the Moors. Thank you and we will be back. ”

- David and Jeannette Beswick

“Probably the nicest pet friendly accommodation we've stayed in. Finished to a very high standard and beautiflly presented, but still practical for a stay with a dog. Nicky is a wonderful host - friendly and available if needed, but will also leave you to enjoy your stay without interruption. Great location, with loads of good walks within easy reach, and very peaceful. Enjoyed watching the local birdlife making the most of the feeders. We'd definitely love to return.”

- Paul & Helen (+ Zara)

“We cannot rate Dreamcatcher highly enough! Usually pet friendly accommodation means a 'doggy smell' and a place that's a bit old and grubby - this could not be further from the truth with Dreamcatcher! We arrived with our dog Dave to find a lovely modern, cosy, clean, fresh property with some really lovely personal touches, such as a basket of logs ready for the fire, a bottle of wine on the table for us, tea, coffee and milk, and most importantly, biscuits, a blanket and towel for Dave! Dreamcatcher was really comfortable, and Nicky has really spent time putting in a lot of effort to make sure that her guests (and their furry companions) are incredibly well looked after and spoilt and we came away from our stay already looking at the next weekend we could go back! ”

- Gemma & Lee Adams (and Dave the Dog)

“This cottage is in a great location. We were able to walk to the woods from the cottage, along country lanes and, best of all, we had a day at the beach where the dogs could play without leads. There is a really good list of dog friendly beaches in the cottage too. Both humans and dogs get a great welcome here, and the owner is on hand but not intrusive. Can't wait to return!”

- Sheila Plummer

“This is a fantastic place to stay, very welcoming - it's been beautifully renovated and is very well kitted out. The icing on the cake is how doggy friendly it is and how close it is to loads of super walks. We returned home with three really happy dogs and two very relaxed humans!”

- Jackie & George Brown
