A Day at Escot

For all lovers of Nature, Escot is a totally new gardens experience. It is uniquely attractive to garden enthusiasts and families alike. Here are champion trees and elegant shrubs amidst woodland paths, picnic spots and forest playgrounds. As the historian Polwhele said back in the eighteenth century:

"Perhaps there are no plantations in Devonshire so strong and luxuriant as those at Escot."

Against the backdrop of this beautiful corner of East Devon, visitors can solve the world class maze, letterbox around the estate (a kind of nature-based treasure hunt), watch the wildlife (including otters, birds of prey, wild boar and red squirrels), discover the Play Barn and the exciting forest play areas (including Forest Leap, a unique woodland drop slide) and enjoy our home cooked local food and delicious cream teas.

ESCOT CAMP WILD

Escot Camp Wild delivers exciting nature based outdoor 2, 3 and 5 night residential programmes for 7-12 year olds and day programmes for 6-12 year olds.

Accommodation is based at yurt village where children sleep in bunk beds in girl and boy sleeping pods, eat meals with friends and enjoy a huge variety of activities which connect children to wildlife, nature and outdoor play.

Some of the activities include: The discovery of Devon's Jurassic coast world heritage site through a variety of unique experiences including fossil hunting, rock pooling and beach games.

Children will meet and feed Escot's otters, play water games, go pond and stream dipping, and hike amongst Escot's 1100 acres of woodland and parkland, they will experience the wonders of wildlife by helping to feed Escot's wild boar, watch birds of prey displays, and learn exciting bush craft skills including fire lighting, shelter building and swamp walking.

Team challenges, art projects, music and games will make up the remainder of the Camp Wild experiences along with estate night hikes, skits and roaring campfires. We want your children to experience something unique and special.
