Jo is the proud owner of four dogs. A five year old Chesapeake Bay Retriever called Ankti, an nine year old Border Collie called Gee, and a Border Collie called Cody who is 2 years old. Plus Frankie a two year old Jack Russell, he is the new addition to the family, he has come from Valgrays Rescue Society.
Ankti is currently training in obedience, working towards her Gold Good Citizen Award, Heelwork to Music and enjoying her Agility career. She loves playing with her Frisbee in the park.
Gee loves Agility, Treibball and a new game called Sheep Balls but unfortunatly he is now no longer able to do Agility or Sheep balls because he has been diagnosed with Spondylitis, fusing of the vertebrae in his lower spine. So he is having a well earned rest, he still loves to run in the woods and we have a ramp to help him into the van, he hates being left at home.
Cody is training in Heelwork to Music and Agility and has just started Competition obedience classes. She loves playing ball in the park and exploring the woods.
Frankie is enjoying playing tug games and has started training in Heelwork to Music, and Tracking, he loves to play with other small dogs in the park.
All four dogs are part of her family and Jo strives to give them the love, care, training and attention they deserve.
Titch unfortunately has been put to sleep. He had gone completely blind in his left eye and the specialist was trying to save his right eye, but was unable to. Due to an hereditary condition we did not know he had. Unfortunately he was unable to cope being blind so it was kinder to let him go.
He will always be my first Heelwork to Music dog and has taught me a lot about the sport and how to train it.
He loved Dressage and Dances best. Titch was also in the Heelwork to music demonstration team for Crufts 2011 and 2012.
Jo has 10 years experience caring for & training dogs and is a qualified Clicker Trainer, with CAP 1 & 2 certificates (Competency Assessment Programme). Jo uses positive training methods focusing on positive reinforcement and rewards.
Jo appeared at Crufts 2011 and 2012, with two of her dogs, breed showing and Heelwork to Music demonstrations. Jo has competed with her dogs in Heelwork to Music, Agility and Obedience, and is a Heelwork to Music judge and trainer. Jo also teaches 2 new games for dogs Treibball and Sheepballs.
In addition she has 40 years experience owning and training horses to eventing competition level.
“I have known Jo for a number of years and would not hesitate to recommend her. Jo has been involved with dogs for many years and always puts the dogs welfare first. As a professional dog trainer I am often asked to recommend some-one to dog sit/walk and Jo is always the first person that comes to mind. I would be more than happy to leave Jo in charge of my dogs knowing they would be in safe hands. Fareham Hampshire”

“We have used SolentK9 for the last 4 months and have been nothing short of amazed with the service they provide. Me and my partner both work a 9 hour day, so we decided to get a dog walker. Jo came and met us the same evening I initially phoned, coming round at 8pm considering I called at 6pm. She immediately came across as trustworthy, professional and very organised. We couldn't put a price on the peace of mind knowing our dog was having fun in safe hands. Beyond this we had a leak in the bathroom one day and Jo's quick thinking and hasty communication saved us a considerable amount of expense. We would both strongly recommend the services of SolentK9 to anybody considering trusting their beloved pet to Jo our dog walker.

We welcomed Jess, our rescue collie, into our family 2 years ago and Jo has been there supporting us since day one. Jess was shy with us at first and very aggressive with strangers but she took to Jo very quickly and was out walking with her in the first week. Jo has used her experience and training to help Jess become more calm and relaxed with strangers. Jess is now happy socialising with other dogs. The regular walking with Jo has provided Jess with routine and has improved her socialization with other dogs. We have variable schedules with work and Jo is always happy to be as flexible as possible. Jess enjoys her walks and we are happy knowing that Jo has a wealth of experience that she applies when looking after her.

Tilly is our first dog and due to a change of work circumstances I needed to find someone who could walk her 2 - 3 days a week whilst we were at work. I found Jo's details and contacted her. Jo and Sarah came to meet Tilly and myself and straight away I felt that I would be happy leaving Tilly in their care. Tilly is cared for 2-3 days a week by Jo and Sarah and I enjoy coming home and reading the report that they leave letting me know what Tilly has been up to! She is mixing well with the other dogs and I feel a lot happier leaving her knowing she is in good hands whilst we're at work.Helen Couzens, Rowlands Castle, Hampshire,, September 2015
SolentK9 are a trustworthy and professional service. My lurcher loves going for walks with them. He has made lots of doggie friends and he is more tired in the evenings. My dogs love SolentK9 and I am happy in knowledge that he is very safe hands. I wholeheartedly recommend them, and I am fussy about who walks my special little boy!
