Deveron Valley Cottages - Dog Friendly Cottages in Huntly, Aberdeenshire

Our family-owned, 200 year-old farmhouse is set in an area that has been quietly inhabited for at least two thousand years. We have five self-catering properties: three cottages and two log cabins, situated by the River Deveron in an ideal location between the mountains and the sea. All prices include central heating, electricity, logs for wood-burners, and linen and towels.

Our Moray Firth coastline with its famous dolphins is host to a selection of arguably the most beautiful villages in the country… Portsoy and Cullen to name but a few. They are also home to what has to be (in our opinion) the best ice-cream shop and fish and chips in the North East!

Fishing is now available to book with us on the river Deveron.

There are lots of things to do nearby, including walking, golfing, salmon and trout fishing, skiing in the Highlands and surfing the waves of Scotland’s sandy beaches at Sandend and Banff. You can also visit unspoilt fishing villages like Crovie, Pennan, Gardenstown, Portsoy and Cullen.

Auchingoul Cottage
Auchingoul Cottage was originally an old farm workers’ home, but was converted in 2002 to a spacious and luxury holiday cottage which sleeps four people. Downstairs is an open plan fully equipped kitchen, dining and lounge area, with comfortable sofas, TV and DVD player and a log burner to ensure the evenings are warm and cosy. A selection of DVDs and books are available for you to borrow, and logs for the wood burner are provided free of charge. Wifi is also available free of charge. The twin bedroom and bathroom with shower are also downstairs.

The Sunflower Cottage
A warm welcome awaits at Sunflower Cottage, perfect for a break for two, wanting to enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the beautiful countryside. Previously a farm worker’s home, it has now been tastefully converted into a snug and comfortable holiday cottage which has all modern conveniences whilst preserving the ambience of days gone by. Sunflower Cottage has one bedroom, with twin beds, bathroom with walk-in shower, and an open plan kitchen/diner and lounge with a cosy log burner. Outside is a private walled garden patio complete with garden furniture where you can relax with a wee dram and enjoy the scenery.

Swallow Cottage
Our largest cottage, this spacious and beautifully furnished holiday home sleeps up to seven guests, with fabulous views of the beautiful surrounding countryside to be seen from every window. At the front of the property is a private walled garden, and to the back a private balcony with table and chairs where you can relax in the evening with a wee dram and watch the sun set over the hills and fields in which grows the barley for the many whisky distilleries in the area which you can visit.

Deveron Lodge
Deveron Lodge is a cosy two-storey log cabin nestled in our woodland, with direct access to walks along the beautiful River Deveron. Tastefully furnished, and with a log burner to ensure the evenings are warm and cosy, this picturesque home has a twin bedroom downstairs and a double bedroom upstairs.  The large upstairs landing (which holds an extra single bed), leads to a sheltered balcony area.

This lodge sleeps up to five people, and is perfect for a peaceful romantic holiday or a relaxing secluded break from the chaos of everyday life. The lounge has a TV and DVD player, and we have a selection of DVDs and books which you can borrow if you wish. Wifi is free of charge.  All logs for the wood burner are supplied free of charge.

There is also a private garden area, free car parking, and we welcome well-behaved pets. You can bring up to two pets by prior arrangement free of charge.

Bonnie View Lodge
 Bonnie View is a single storey log cabin, which sleeps up to four people, and commands beautiful views across the River Deveron to the Aberdeenshire countryside. There is a private decking area which is gated at each end, and so ideal for those of you with small children or pets. Up to two well-behaved pets are welcome free of charge Sit at the picnic table and enjoy the peaceful atmosphere and glorious scenery!

Inside is a well-equipped kitchen and dining area, and a cosy living room with log burner, TV and DVD player. A selection of DVDs and books are available for you to borrow, and logs for the burner are provided free of charge.  Additional heating is provided by electric radiators.

There are two comfortable bedrooms, one double and one twin room and a bathroom with walk-in shower.
