PJ Behaviour & Training - Dog Training in Bedford, Bedfordshire

Qualified and professional dog trainer and behaviourist based in Marston Moretaine, Bedfordshire and covering, Milton Keynes, Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire.

Dog Training
Training with your dog is a great way to have fun and bond with your furry friend, however, dogs are their own independent thinkers and sometimes things do not always go according to plan.

PJ Behaviour & Training

From training a recall, to preventing jumping up, I work with you to understand your dog and help guide you with your own unique training plan.

I am able to offer one to one training consultations to help you overcome any training issues you may be having with your dog, or a one to one course of sessions covering some basic obedience training.

I can also run group training classes (subject to interest and behavioural assessment) covering basic obedience training in a group environment to also build up confidence around other dogs and people, while providing a bigger challenge of distractions.

Behaviour Consultations
Having a dog should always be a pleasurable experience, we bring them into our homes and make them a part of our family. But just like people, our dogs can develop certain behaviours that can make everyday life more difficult.

PJ Behaviour & Training

Unlike people, we do not speak the same language and cannot ask them what they are struggling with. However, by working with both you and your dog, we can start to understand what they are trying to tell us and figure out how best to support them, making their environement happier and safer.

Socialisation Walks
One of the best reasons to have a dog is to get out and about and meet new people that also love dogs.  Social walks are a great way to get together so both Humans and Dogs can get some much needed socialisation.

These walks will be run on Sunday mornings in Marston Moretaine at Stewartby lake and on Sunday afternoons in Milton Keyens at Willen lake. It is important that the dogs taking part are comfortable in a group setting are not a way of desensitising your dog to the presence of others as this needs to be done in a more controlled manner. Because of these all dogs wanting to take part will be subject to a behavioural assessment.

About me
My name is Paula Smith and I qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse back in 2013, and it was during my time in practice that I developed a love for studying the body language of the dogs that we saw everyday and wanted to better support them during a, possibly, very nervous experiance. I completed my Advanced National Diploma in canine behaviour (level 5) in 2020 which allowed me to register as a provisional member of the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors, and become a member of the International Society of Animal Professionals. I am currently studying towards my level 6 qualification.

I share my home with a wonderful little Jack Russel Terrier, Maisie as well as two cats, Shikhana and Loki
