Wagging Tails - Family Run Dog Boarding in Reading, Berkshire
All of our carers are at home during the day and have been vetted by ourselves and licensed where necessary, by their individual councils to ensure that they live up to our high standards.
Unlike other companies our carers only take in one families dogs at any time, giving your dog's the undivided attention they deserve!
Berkshire Home Dog Boarding
Wagging Tails RG Branch: Teresa Bowers
We have had dogs in our family since I was very young and I currently have two dogs - Scooby who is a Golden Retriever and Tyler, a black Labrador. We live on the edge of the Ridgeway which is part of the National Trail running through the Chilterns and is an outstanding area of natural beauty. I love to go on long walks with them and my husband, and we are always exploring new walks in and around Berkshire.
My aim is to help dog owners in Berkshire find the perfect holiday for their best friends so that they can fully relax whilst they are on holiday or away with work.
It is important to me to build a strong rapport with my Carers who know I am always on hand should they need any assistance. This in turn gives the owners additional reassurance that the best possible care is being given to their dogs.
I am trained in Canine First Aid and have successfully completed the Animal Aiders Dog First Aid Training Course.
I hold a Diploma from The Academy of Dog Training and Behaviour having undertaken and passed their 'Understanding What Makes Dogs Tick' course.
I hold a license from The White Horse District Council to board dogs at our home.
I am also fully insured with Third Party Liability Insurance from Pet Business Insurance.
All our Carers are experienced past dog owners who sadly no longer have dogs of their own. Coming from various walks of life and experienced with different breeds of dogs they have all been vetted, interviewed and assessed and we would happily board Scooby and Tyler with each of them. Where necessary our Carers are licensed by their local Council to comply with the Animal Boarding Establishments Act 1963 and are fully insured through Wagging Tails Pet Business Insurance. I match each owner's dogs with the most suitable carers and insist on a 'sniffing out meeting' taking place at the Carers home before the board. I believe it is very important for owners to meet the chosen carer to gain peace of mind and feel confident their best friend will have a great holiday! I always aim to place dogs back with the same carer for subsequent holidays as the dogs and Carers build a strong bond. Many owners have told me their dogs have dragged them to the Carers door knowing exactly where they are and that it's holiday time!
We are very proud to be recommended by many Vets, Dog Trainers, Groomers and Owners.
Our caliber of Carers and dedication to giving owner's dogs a stress free alternative to kennels makes Wagging Tails the ideal holiday home for all dogs including rescue dogs, puppies and elderly dogs.
Our Aim is to ensure that owners can go away safe in the knowledge that their dogs are being loved and cared for and for all dogs boarding with Wagging Tails Carers to get a holiday of their own, full of love, exercise and those all important cuddles!
“Thanks to Norman, Naomi and the girls for taking such good care of our Retriever, Ellie. It was wonderful to know that she was having such a great time whilst we were away – we were sent pictures and messages showing us what she was up to (swimming, walking in the woods, cuddling up with the girls!). We have used Wagging Tails ever since Ellie was a pup (over 5 years) and the carers have always been fantastic. Best regards, Caroline”

“Hi Teresa, We've just received your letter and the lovely photos of Duncan! Thank you so much. We were delighted that Duncan had what was obviously a very good time. Patricia and Derek are absolutely lovely, lovely people and clearly dog lovers. When we collected him, he followed Derek everywhere, so we know he was happy. He has been a bit subdued since we got home, which is how he is when he misses somebody, we are pretty convinced he's missing is new holiday mum and dad!We did thank Patricia and Derek, but please do pass on our thanks again and feedback - which is; they were just perfect. We had not the slightest concern about leaving Duncan with them. We will definitely be using Wagging Tails again (and hopefully Patricia and Derek) Kind regards, Stella and Scott”

“Both Rich and I were really disappointed in how much our boys didn't miss us! We could tell instantly how much they enjoyed their stay with Louise and her family. I can't tell you how much we were really, really grateful not only for them stepping in to help us, but more importantly how much they looked after our boys. Rich and I had a good feeling after meeting them the first time and confirmed our feelings when he came to pick them up. Provided they felt the same we definitely would like to reuse their services as we got a strong feeling they felt the same way about our boys with Ruby. Molting, greedy guts and snuggles galore! I know they usually only look after one dog and hopefully the boys didn't put her off :-) We have had some positive and unfortunately negative experience with home boarders before but based on this experience, I think Rich will agree the boys enjoyed themselves the most with Louise and her family. Thank you for the photos too! Love them! Niki, Fleet”

“At short notice Teresa was able to find a suitable carer for our Yellow Lab, Doug. Doug is 2 1/2 years old, he has never been in kennels and would normally stay with family friends when we're away. However, this was not an option and Wagging Tails came to the rescue. After completing a simple form and confirming dates we took Doug to visit Louise and Vivienne. Doug was so relaxed in their company we knew we'd made the right decision to leave him there. When we went back to drop him off for his holiday, Doug went straight in the house and didn't look back! Collecting Doug was just as easy, and despite being late back on the ferry, Louise was able to accommodate us. Doug had clearly had a fabulous time and had been really well looked after by his surrogate family. I would like to say a big thank you to Louise, Vivienne and Teresa for taking away the stress of leaving our beloved dog at home. I know exactly where he'll be staying next time we go away...
