The Old Stables cottage - Dog friendly cottage in Carmarthenshire
Sir Johns Hill Farm is the perfect place for a relaxing and fun filled holiday with your dogs. The Farm is in one of the finest locations in West Wales and the views are truly outstanding. It is set in 10 acres and surrounded by fields and woodland, which gently drop down to the sea. It is a very private and peaceful place, well away from main roads, but it also has the advantage of being only half a mile from the township of Laugharne. It is a pleasant stroll down into Laugharne, but with the Farm being at the top of a very steep hill it is definitely a more strenuous walk on the way back – a very good way of getting fit. A torch is provided in the Old Stables Cottage for those adventurous souls who want to walk back from Laugharne after dark!
The Farm is a great place for people who like to get away from it all and stay in a comfortable cottage with fantastic views. There are lovely walks direct from the Farm, beautiful dog friendly beaches nearby, and a number of dog friendly places where you can eat and drink locally. Many people who come and stay at the Farm tend to spend a lot of time just relaxing around the Farm, but there are lots of interesting local attractions for all the family to enjoy and many great places to go out for a drink, snack or meal.
The Old Stables Cottage
The Old Stables cottage has been designed with dogs and their owners in mind. It is easy to clean with tiled floors and rugs throughout. There are throws for the settees and also for the beds. There are two bedrooms, a double and a twin, bathroom with large double shower, a large lounge, a spacious well fitted kitchen and a dining conservatory. There is lots of space throughout the cottage for dog beds and an ample supply of dog towels and dog bowls.
The cottage has lots of cupboard and wardrobe space and a very well stocked kitchen. Beds are made up on arrival and bath, hand and tea towels are all provided. There are lots of DVDs, CDs, and games. The cottage also has a comprehensive book swap library. There is a TV and DVD in the lounge, a CD/radio in the conservatory, a CD/radio in the double bedroom and a radio alarm clock in the twin room.
Externally there is a front courtyard with seating and space to park a car. To the side of the cottage is a large gravelled area with table and chairs which leads into an enclosed garden with post and rail fencing and chicken wire, so even small dogs should not be able to escape! There is a hosepipe in the garden and an outside tap at the rear of the cottage and also an outside tap with hosepipe outside the stables in the courtyard.
The cottage is a great year round destination. It is lovely to sit out in the garden or on the patios in the summer, but in the winter, or when the weather is not so pleasant you can sit in the conservatory and look across the sea to Worm’s Head on the Gower. The cottage is very warm now as it has LPG central heating and it has also been extremely well insulated.
Both dogs and horses are made very welcome at Sir Johns Hill Farm.
