Built around 200 years ago, Redgate Smithy is now a friendly and professionally run Bed & Breakfast, with attractive rooms, very comfortable beds, and a very extensive and tasty award winning Breakfast menu, served in the conservatory overlooking the Garden.
Redgate Smithy Bed and Breakfast is situated just above the beautiful Golitha Falls, near to St.Cleer, on the southern edge of Bodmin Moor. Golitha Falls are a tranquil and mysterious place; peaceful, yet beautiful and foreboding, all at once. A King of Cornwall died here and miners have toiled here. Legend still lingers.

Redgate Smithy is a quiet and peaceful B&B, with comfortable beamed, and well equipped cottage style bedrooms, with an air of seclusion to rest your weary feet. All of our beds are also very comfortable! Each bed has a sleep-inducing SleepWise "Dream-on" orthopaedic mattress, to ensure the sweetest of dreams.
All three bedrooms have a drinks tray with tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and a selection of fruit teas, together with a tin of biscuits for that midnight snack. Fresh milk and water is also provided. You will also find each bedroom has a hairdryer, clothes brush, emergency sewing kit and a two-pin adapter plug, as well as an alarm clock, torches, a box of tissues, and selected books and Cornwall magazines! All the bathrooms and ensuites have a supply of white fluffy towels and facecloths, shower gel and body lotion, and shower caps.
Each bedroom has a Digital Freeview TV, plus separate Radio, and a comprehensive local Food Guide and "Food Map" with recommendations for where to eat in the evening. There is a detailed folder of information about Redgate Smithy, and selected guides and information about the surrounding area.
All our Tariffs include our full Breakfast Menu, cooked to your order whenever you come down. Choose from any of our temptations, which are served in the Conservatory overlooking the garden.

We aim to provide a relaxing atmosphere for our guests, with all of our guests' rooms separated upstairs away from our own, each with their own facilities.
Guests are welcome to use the conservatory and main patio at any time, and to explore round our lovely woodland garden. All the paths lead to other secluded seating areas in the garden, and from the top patio up by the greenhouse there are views out across open fields towards our local village of St.Cleer. On a quiet summer's evening, you can here the church bells in St.Cleer, or listen to the buzzards mewing as they soar overhead. Whatever the season, the garden is continually changing; through the colours of Spring, the lazy days of Summer, the greens and browns of Autumn, and through to the hibernating and chilly days of Winter, preparing for the next new Spring.
