Ashley Park House provides a setting of unmatched tranquillity and peace. A worthy respite from the rigours of modern living. Ashley Park House is one of those beautiful 18th century houses where all is elegance and comfort. The house was fully renovated in 1993 and we have gone through a number of changes from those early days.

We have sought to recreate the original feel of the rooms making use of photographs we found in the basement. In particular, the drawing room and the red dining room were completely upgraded using fabrics and wall paper from Zophany and Colefax and Fowler along with all the upstairs bedrooms.

The verandah floorboards, hand rails and supports have all been replaced and repainted, which now enables guests to stroll out of the rooms on warm summer nights. The gardens have been opened up extensively offering some wonderful views of the flora and fauna at Ashley Park.

Food
Enjoy a full choice breakfast as part of your stay- we do the full spread! A wide range of cereals including muesli and porridge is available along with plates of fresh fruit and juice. We can offer a continental breakfast with locally baked soda bread, fresh croissants, toast and a wide range of jams and marmalades.

There is a range of hot food from the famous ‘Traditional Full Irish’ to lighter options such as scrambled eggs, pancakes and omelettes.  All our food is freshly prepared and ingredients sourced locally.

Breakfast is served from 8.30am to 10.45am in the Main House Dining Room.

For guests staying for a B&B stay, what better way to end the day than with a full four course dinner and wine in the red dining room, surrounded by gilt mirrors and gazing over the lake.

We believe the heart of a great stay is the food, therefore our head Chef and her team are on hand to ensure you enjoy delicious regional cuisine in a warm and friendly atmosphere. We cater for many dietary requirements and will always try to accommodate any request.

Our ingredients are sourced locally and all meals are freshly prepared.

Garden & Grounds
The gardens at Ashley Park are set in nearly eighty acres of mature beech woodland. The estate is maintained as a bird sanctuary for indigenous and migratory species of wildfowl. The island on the lake, Louch Ourna, with its ruined castle, provides a safe haven for breeding. The central piece to the gardens is a walled garden set with gazeboes, greenhouses and a gardener’s cottage set into the wall of the garden.

One of the features of the gardens is the number of smaller self-contained natural gardens that give the guests a choice of secluded locations to enjoy the varied flora and fauna of the property. These gardens are set around the property and vary considerably. Some are not easy to find, but are much enjoyed by the birds, including the many peacocks as they follow the sun around the house.
