South Tynedale Railway

Climb aboard for a leisurely ride through the scenic North Pennine countryside on one of our trains which are hauled by vintage steam, diesel or battery electric locos from around the world.

Dogs are very welcome across all areas of our site which include a viewing gallery above our engineering workshop, a Discovery Centre, Crossing Café, ticket office and gift shop.

The line runs alongside the South Tyne Trail so why not  buy one of our Rover tickets, stop at any one of our stations and walk and ride all day!
