Another Place - Dog Friendly Hotel In Penrith Cumbria

A new, relaxed hotel on the shores of Ullswater in the Lake District. Another Place, The Lake gives you days together and days apart: around a table for dinner, by the pool, or stand-up paddleboarding on the lake.

The Hotel
47 bedrooms span the original Georgian building and the new contemporary wing. But, Another Place is more than just a hotel. Inside you’ll find Rampsbeck Restaurant, The Living Space bar and terrace, a relaxed library and Swim Club, our take on a spa.

In summer 2022 Another Place launches their new ‘Outside’ rooms and spaces including a treehouse, shepherd huts, family shepherd huts and a Victorian glasshouse with pizza oven. All our Outside rooms are dog friendly.

Outside, Another Place covers 18 acres of National Park. Walk to the private lakeshore through the gardens, or detour via the Sheep Shed to pick up a wetsuit and a stand-up paddleboard.

Swim Club
Relax into a treatment. Give some time over to the sauna, the outdoor hot tub and the 20m infinity pool. ‘Swimming in the view’ might sound a bit idealistic, but in Swim Club it’s every bit the truth.

Rampsbeck Restaurant
Three-course dinners inspired by Cumbria and made with local produce. Herdwick lamb, Morecambe Bay shrimp, vegetables and salad from the hotel’s kitchen garden on a daily changing menu.

Every morning is an open-pantry breakfast; take as much as you need to get your day underway. Make sure you try the coffee and waffles…

The Living Space
A big, open-plan space between the library and Swim Club. The Living Space is our bar and all-day restaurant, full of sofas and hidden corners.

Open from 8am ‘till late. Food served midday – 4pm, 5pm – 9pm every day.

Dogs
Dogs are welcome at Another Place all year round. With Ullswater and the fells on your doorstep, the Lake District is a permanent playground with endless space, footpaths, trails, lakes and rivers waiting to be explored. Our 18 acres of secluded Lake District National Park and shoreline offer early risers the space to exercise your canine companions before breakfast and heading out for the day.

Cottages in the hotel grounds
Next to the main building, Cottages are bolt-holes with the best of both worlds. Full access to the hotel and private open-plan living and dining areas with a kitchen.

Cottages sleep up to four. Both have two bedrooms, one double and one twin room with single beds. The best family cottage has a wood burning stove. They are both dog friendly.
