The Queens Head in Troutbeck is a historic, & award-winning, 17th century coaching inn that’s been welcoming locals and visitors for hundreds of years.

Nestled on the side of the fells that overlook the Troutbeck Valley, we provide a cosy little corner to relax and unwind with a warm Lakeland welcome for everyone who steps through our doors.

Bringing a four-legged friend? We love dogs so much we even named our house beer, ‘Patterd’ Ale’, after our Landlady’s pooch. We have 8 dog-friendly rooms along with roaring fires to warm up two feet and four paws at the end of a great walk. So, whether exploring Windermere, Ambleside, or following in the footsteps of Wainwright, stop by the Queens Head where Sam and the team welcome muddy boots, paws, and all.

Breakfast Included - You can’t walk the fells on an empty stomach, so, our breakfast menu is cooked fresh to fuel your day. Served with a selection of hot drinks it’s the perfect opener for a Lakeland classic.
