The Farm
We are a true working family farm and during our 37 years here we have tried to work in harmony with our environment and have in this time rebuilt the majority of all our limestone walls, cleared ponds, set trees, and replanted hedges to encourage the wildlife.

The farm has both traditional and modern buildings. There is a very interesting old Dovecote dated 1789.   We have a suckler herd (50 cows with calves at foot) and around 380 sheep.

We lamb our sheep during April when we are pleased to have additional help from Vet Students from Nottingham University, and in return for this much needed assistance we teach them all we know about lambing sheep and they get a lot of hands on experience.  Our suckler cows calve throughout May and June, then there's sheep shearing, haymaking and silaging.  Guests are welcome to look around the farm, but children must be under adult supervision. Indeed we enjoy discussing our farming life with guests.  Read our reviews at the bottom of the Home Page which reflect how much guests have enjoyed staying on our farm.
