Just off Buxton Road in the centre of Whaley Bridge High Peak, onto Reservoir Road. Free parking on reservoir road.

There is a path that follows the right side of Toddbrook its wooded with nice small sandy beaches along the rout with opportunities for your doggie to go paddling.

At the end of this path there is stepping stones to cross over the river and you can follow a path that leads you to Macclesfield Road and eventually to Taxal Edge. When the river is high you cant cross here at all and the path becomes a dead end.

Alternatively you can cross over the reservoir at the viaduct and either turn left and drop down to Memorial Park or just after the viaduct there is a footpath and to the right and you can follow this path up and extend your walk over to Taxal Edge and then onto Fernilee Reservoir

Reviews

“Great place to walk the dog, but as with lots of other inland water courses it can suffer from blu/green algi in warm weather,a nd this can be fatal to dogs.”

“It's a great place for dogs and watersports. We love throwing sticks for your dogs but please pick up the poo along the paths and in the woods. The reservoir has children visiting for watersports all through the year but especially in the summer and they love paddling too. We are really pleased by the number of dog owners who bag it and bin it.”
