Charlie is a farmer’s son who grew up in a village outside Tiverton. Being around animals from a young age inspired him to pursue a veterinary career. On finishing his A levels at Exeter College, Charlie started vet school at Cambridge. While at university Charlie met his wife Janet. They married before he started his final year. While at university Charlie started to develop his interest in orthopaedics.
Upon qualifying in 2002 Charlie started his career working in a small animal practice in Hampshire. He moved back to Devon upon the birth of his first child. While in Devon he worked in mixed practice in Okehampton before taking up a position in Exeter working as a sole charge vet in a small animal practice.
Milestone Veterinary Centre realises Charlie’s ambition to own and run a veterinary surgery. Working together with Angela, Charlie is intending to develop Milestone Veterinary Centre into a caring, understanding practice that builds strong links with the local community as well as providing a high standard of veterinary care. Outside work Charlie spends time with his ever growing family.
Angela came over to the UK in 1999 from Zimbabwe where she had the wonderful privilege of growing up in the African bush as her parents were farmers. Her love of animals and desire to be a vet began from a very early age watching the vets work with her dad’s cattle and horses.
She received her veterinary degree from the University of Zimbabwe and graduated in 1998. She then came to the UK to further her studies and obtained membership to the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons 2000. Angela then took her first job in Southampton working for Beech House Veterinary Centre where she stayed for the next 7 years. As time passed Angela started to yearn for a more rural life and the beautiful country side of Devon beckoned. She first moved to Somerset and then onto Devon in 2009 where she feels she has truly settled. In her spare time Angela spends as much time as possible enjoying the wonderful Devon countryside usually accompanied by her little dog, Maisie. She also enjoys horse riding and playing tennis, and has two lovely cats for companionship.

“So pleased I found this vets and have no complaints so far. My dog found David who is one of the vets and who has been marvellous . Sensible , realistic and kindly advice and care . All the staff are friendly, helpful and my dog has confidence in them when he goes there . Thank you to the team. ”
“We own a very large elderly Dog who is a big softie but is terrified of vets. A t last we have found Charlie and cannot thank him enough for coming to our home and treating Bruce. We will never again feel the stress that normally comes with vet visits.”
