Newton Ferrers - Dog Friendly Beach in Noss Mayo, Devon
This is one of the most popular day sailing locations in the South West, attracting yachts from Cornwall and further afield, as well as Salcombe and other Devon marinas.
Tucked away on a creek next to the River Yealm, there is a surprising range of facilities and leisure activities here.
Access is also relatively good from Plymouth, for those preferring an approach by land.

“Not sure I would call this area a beach. It is pretty muddy once the tide starts to go down & my husband lost his shoe because of the mud.It is very pretty place though with a few pubs and shops. We did swim in it when the tide was high but once it starts to go out the current can become quite strong so caution is needed. ”
