A tiny remote sandy inlet set below the craggy black towers of Bolt Head. Access only on foot via the South West Coast Path or somewhat less dauntingly from the Soar Mill Cove Hotel. Or visit by canoe or boat from Salcombe. Well worth the effort of getting there. Dogs allowed.

“We stayed at Soar in the middle of 2014. We took our labrador and were looking forward to the 'the sandy beach' as advertised everywhere and shown in all photos. It was a lovely sandy beach ideal for all, dogs children everyone. The unusual weather early in 2014 altered all that. The beach we found covered in rocks/boulders washed up these were covered in green slippery slime. It will be many years if ever, if these beach returns to its former glory, very sad. ”
