Artist Kate Marr
Capturing the character, essence, and soulfulness of each individual is what it’s all about! Portraits and atmospheric scenes are my speciality, bringing alive precious memories of people, pets and places.
Kate Marr works as an artist in Bournemouth, UK, specialising in portraits and scenic paintings. Her desire is to bring out the character of each individual in every piece, and create atmospheric art for people to treasure. Her style is realistic and lively, using oil paint, gouache paint or pencil to capture special moments. Kate takes inspiration for her art from all areas of her life, influences from contemporary, traditional and impressionist art and enjoys working with customers on commissions. Kate has been a professional artist for the last decade, where she has undertaken many commissions, and exhibited in galleries.

HOW TO COMMISSION
Please contact me and let me know your commission idea. It is always lovely and exciting to go through the details, decide on a composition, materials, size, framing, postage and timescale. I also ask that you let me know a little about the individual’s character so that I can bring this out in the artwork. Sometimes photos will need to be taken, sittings or a portfolio viewing arranged. Each artwork is bespoke, and I work out each commission with the customer to their requirements.
A mock-up will then be confirmed and deposit paid before proceeding with the commission. I keep customers informed throughout the process, letting them know how it is progressing, and when it is likely to be finished. Once finished I will confirm if any changes are needed by the customer until they are delighted with the completed portrait.
Handmade Michael Harding and Winsor & Newton artist’s oil paints on acid free oil painting paper or canvas. Oils are a traditional painting material which bring out rich colourful tones.
Your artwork can be posted to you, or you are welcome to collect it from Bournemouth, UK. International shipping is available.
High quality giclée or canvas prints of your commission can be ordered.
“I asked Kate to do a portrait of my girlfriends cat for Christmas and the final drawling was absolutely superb. The drawing was done in the exact style I requested and I was kept fully updated on the progress of it. I would absolutely recommend Kate! ”

“My Gran loved the portrait, thank you so much. We would rate you and your service 5 stars. You really helped us out at such a busy time of year. The portrait was lovely and was such a great likeness. It was sent and received very quickly from me approving the final picture sent. It was well packaged to keep it safe. You kept constant contact throughout so we were kept up to date. Thank you so much for such an amazing service.”
“Kate provided a professional, friendly and efficient service from start to finish. Guiding us through the process and helping us to make a decision for which medium and size painting to choose. Kate did a lovely photo shoot with our children and then we chose a photo for her to work from to create our beautiful portrait. We now have a heart warming, delightful painting that captures our precious children so well and we can treasure this piece of art forever. Thank you!”
