Highcliffe Castle is a magnificent 1830s mansion situated just four miles east of Christchurch. The cliff-top grounds, with wonderful views of the Dorset coastline and the Isle of Wight, provide access to the beach and to the Christchurch Coastal Path.
Although it no longer has its rich interiors, the Castle now houses a Heritage Centre containing stateroom galleries, which provide the backdrop to an exciting programme of events and exhibitions. Entertainment highlights for 2012 include outdoor theatre, workshops, an Easter Trail, children's craft activities, vintage car shows, big band concerts, as well as indoor concerts, Supper Evenings, Antiques and Gift Fairs and much more. The galleries will also host an array of work by local artists that include pottery, textiles, woodwork and photography. Hard Hat Guided Tours take place every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday, taking you into the unrestored areas of the Castle (booking advisable).
The Castle is available to hire for weddings, receptions, banquets and events.
Finally, relax and enjoy a cream tea or some lunch in the Tea Rooms and stroll around the grounds and down to the beach or browse in the Gift Shop to find the perfect souvenirs and gift ideas. For full details visit www.highcliffecastle.co.uk or call 01425 278807.
Open daily 1st February to 23rd December. Grounds open all year from 7am (variable closing times subject to season). Tea Rooms open all year (except Christmas Day). Parking Charges apply.
