I’m Darren, and for over 30 years I’ve been helping dogs and their owners across East Sussex build trust, confidence, and lifelong bonds. Working exclusively on a one-to-one basis, each session is personalised to your dog’s unique needs and personality, creating an enjoyable and effective learning experience for both of you.

Training takes place in a secure field and barn set against the stunning backdrop of the South Downs. This provides a calm, safe, and beautiful environment for dogs to learn new skills, overcome challenges, and grow in confidence. Using positive reinforcement and a balanced, kind approach, I ensure every session is both educational and fun. I never use harsh methods—only patience, trust, and mutual respect to help you understand your dog’s behaviour and communication.

Scent Training is one of the most rewarding and exciting ways to engage your dog’s natural instincts. Whether it’s scent discrimination, tracking, or air scenting, your dog’s incredible nose can open up a world of fun and enrichment. No previous experience is needed—just curiosity and enthusiasm! My Introduction to Scent sessions are perfect for any dog that loves to explore and use its senses.

I also offer Fun Gun Dog Training for all breeds, designed to bring out your dog’s working potential in a relaxed and enjoyable way. From basic gun dog techniques to scurry activities, these sessions are a fantastic way to strengthen teamwork and develop control while having fun outdoors.

If your dog is displaying challenging behaviour such as recall issues, lead pulling, jumping up, or nervous aggression, I can help. I believe there are no bad dogs—only confused ones. Through understanding, structure, and consistency, we can overcome unwanted habits and replace them with calm, positive behaviour that enhances your life together.
