Pet Perfection - Dog Behaviour & Training Service
A fully qualified and insured behaviourist providing the help and support necessary for owners to achieve an improved relationship with their pet – whether it be for training, behaviour counselling and modification, dog walking or general advice when getting a new pet.
Problem behaviours are frequently the cause behind many pets being re-homed, abandoned and even euthanased. With the help of a trained specialist these problem behaviours can often be resolved.
Advice is based on positive, kind, reward-based methods backed up by the scientific study of behaviour and ‘learning theory’ and not on the basis of ‘dominance theory’ which has been disproved and often involves pointless and harsh techniques.
No pet is too ‘stubborn’ or ‘stupid’ to learn, but there may be various factors preventing learning, or making the training process slow and frustrating. I can help owners to achieve the results they want, using fair and motivational methods.
I will look at your pet as an individual, whilst also taking into account their breed, age, gender and background, as well as any other information that may be relevant. Together, we will work towards your ideal aims and relationship with your pet.
During a behaviour consultation, it is important for me to observe your pet’s natural behaviour. Gathering history and information is also important to determine the underlying cause and what can be done to eliminate or modify the behaviour. I will not treat any case the same, as I strongly believe that each pet should be assessed as an individual, based on their personality, home environment and lifestyle – being able to understand what is reinforcing their behaviour.
What works for some, may not for others – for both the pet and owner.
I can offer help with a range of problems, for both dogs and cats – if you are unsure if you should arrange a behaviour or training consultation then please contact me. If it is appropriate, I will happily arrange an initial ‘training consultation’ in your own home, to agree a plan that is best for your situation.
I provide 1-2-1 training consultations for you and your dog, of any age or ability. All areas of training are catered for. Consultations can be structured to yours and your dog’s needs and abilities.
Pet Perfection’s group training classes are suitable for puppies (once fully vaccinated) and adult dogs. Each course aims to teach the best ways for you to communicate and bond with your dog. Rather than just teaching training commands, you are helped to develop behavioural understanding, allowing you to develop your dog’s life skills, even after class courses have finished.

I can offer a dog walking service, tailored to suit you and your dog – prices start from £10 - £25 depending on how long you would like me to spend with your dog – if you require training during this time or just simply a walk or some company at home.
Pet Sitting and Boarding
Pet Perfection provides pet sitting for dogs and cats. This can include dog walking, training, general care, companionship and administering any required medications.
The unique bond we have with them is so highly rewarding and enjoyable, and I hope that Pet Perfection can help many owners rediscover this and benefit from the best companionship with their pet.
I am a qualified and insured member of CAPBT – COAPE Association of Pet Behaviourists and Trainers. CAPBT are a worldwide organisation with the largest number of qualified behaviourists working on veterinary referral.
I have an Advanced Diploma in Companion Animal Behaviour & Training – passed with Distinction (COAPE). This is nationally accredited at degree level – CERTA QCF Level 5. COAPE is also the preferred educational provider for the Kennel Club. I am currently enrolled with the Kennel Club’s scheme for dog trainers and instructors (KCAI) and working towards full accreditation.
As well as running Pet Perfection, I am also a Registered Veterinary Nurse and have worked in this field for over 9 years. I continue to work within veterinary practice on a locum basis. In addition to this, I also work for COAPE as a tutor, assessing students’ work and also as a behaviour advisor for Nestlé Purina’s Pets at Work scheme.
