‘Because happy dogs make happy people’. We are here to help you and your dog live happily together by showing you how to shape behaviour and build trust in your relationship. Based in Maidstone, we work in the surrounding areas to help people understand and enjoy their dogs and experience the real benefits of dog ownership.

Sam and Dave have supported people with raising, training and caring for dogs for over 37 years. Having had long careers in training and raising guide dogs, they understand the special role dogs play in our lives and can help you manage and modify any behaviour your dog is showing.

We offer a range of services including our real life puppy and training classes, one to one training sessions at your home, dog walking and training sessions, virtual individual consultations and agility for fun activities. Real life classes: Small groups of up to 6 people meet in varied locations in and around Maidstone to train and socialise dogs in everyday situations. Priced at £15 per class, held once a fortnight, with no set number of sessions to attend.

One to one training sessions: We visit you at home or in a suitable location to support specific behaviour issues. Visits usually last just over one hour and provide practical solutions and an understanding of the approaches we recommend. Suitable for any dog, of any age. Priced at £75, with as many or as few sessions as you wish.

Virtual individual consultations: If a face to face visit is not possible, we can meet via Zoom, Teams or WhatsApp. These focused discussions help us understand behaviours, triggers and reinforcers, and plan development. Priced at £50 for a 45 minute call and arranged around your schedule.

Puppy socialisation classes: Small groups of up to 6 people and puppies meet in various locations for socialisation and training. The focus is to provide life skills so puppies grow up happy and a pleasure to live with. Classes are £15, once a fortnight, with no set number of sessions.

Dog walking and training service: As ex Guide Dog trainers, we provide walking and training sessions that offer exercise, enrichment and bespoke training to shape required behaviours. We collect your dog from home or work. Sessions last 45 minutes to an hour for individual dogs only. The cost per walk is £50.

Agility for fun classes: Dogs enjoy running, playing and being challenged. We offer a fun and playful approach to agility, developing skills and providing novel exercise opportunities. Sessions cost £15 for an hour. Find us on Facebook: Dog BS - Agility for Fun.

The keys to success: We believe there are four areas to create a happy partnership with dogs — maintaining physical and mental health, really getting to know your dog, helping your dog cope with our world, and teaching your dog how to behave. Provide good nutrition, suitable environments and positive social interactions; learn your dog’s language and breed characteristics; set them up to succeed and manage environments; use rewards, communicate clearly and shape behaviours over time.
