Wyreside Lakes Fishery and Campsite - Dog Friendly Camping in Lancaster, Lancashire

Welcome to Wyreside Lakes Fishery and Campsite, a family-run business set within 120 acres of farmland at the foot of the Bowland Fells in Dolphinholme. With seven fishing lakes and the River Wyre winding through the grounds, it is the perfect destination for families, anglers, and dog lovers seeking a relaxing countryside escape.

Our award-winning campsite provides grass electric pitches for caravans, campervans, and motorhomes, along with lush green fields for tents. Guests enjoy access to modern toilet and shower blocks, disabled and baby changing facilities, launderette with iron and hairdryer, outdoor washing-up areas, and an onsite shop combined with reception for all your essentials.

Wyreside Lakes is extremely dog friendly. With more than two miles of lakeside walks and interconnecting trails along the Wyre Way, there is plenty of space for long adventures with your dog. A grooming salon is located onsite, perfect for keeping your pet pampered, while our bar and restaurant, The Fisherman’s Rest, welcomes dogs both inside and in the beer garden. We are proud to also run a small charity rescue and sanctuary, Brighter Days Lancaster, reflecting our passion for dogs and their welfare.

For children there is a safe outdoor play area, woodland full of wildlife, and evening fun in the arcade and clubhouse when accompanied by parents. Please be aware the River Wyre runs adjacent to the woodland and can be dangerous, so children should be supervised at all times. At weekends, our bar provides lively entertainment, while during the day guests enjoy the calm surroundings and beautiful scenery.

Fishing enthusiasts will find seven lakes stocked with coarse and pike, and rods are available for hire with 24 hours’ notice. Whether you are here to fish, walk, or simply unwind, Wyreside Lakes offers a blend of nature, comfort, and relaxation. Scenic lakeside walks and a nature trail make it an idyllic spot for both anglers and dog owners alike.

Facilities include a bar and restaurant with dog-friendly beer garden, modern toilet and shower block, launderette, outdoor washing-up areas, free WiFi in the main building, and a well-stocked shop and tackle shop.
