“Responsible Dog owners BEWARE After researching both the council and tourist info websites which beach we could take our dog on at cleethorpes we set off for a family day trip. Followed the councils own map to designated dog area from the right side of the leisure centre towards the boating lake where other dog owners were also enjoying time on the sand (all dogs on leads) but within minutes of being on there, law enforcement officers were trying to issue fixed penalty fines to us. Absolutely appalling misconduct of the council to direct tourists to this spot and then treat them like criminals instead of using time effort and energy to those who are displaying anti social behaviours within the town. Unfortunately we will never return to Cleethorpes after this awful experience, instead our trips with the dog will be to Bridlington, Sewerby and Flamborough where we are welcome with open arms ”
