The Clarendon Hotel is comprised of a row of eighteenth century residences, originally built for City merchants and seafarers. Today, it is what many people consider the finest Georgian hotel in south-east London.

The Clarendon Hotel has been in the ownership of the O’Donnell family for over 52 years and the family love of Maritime Greenwich is reflected in some of the names of the public rooms. The Meridian Restaurant, named after the Prime Meridian of the World, located at the Royal Observatory in nearby Greenwich Park. The main bar is named after navigational charts used by sailors to navigate the globe.



Our hotel is situated in front of Blackheath Common which is over 200 acres of fun loving grass, beyond the common is Royal Greenwich Park, which is another wonderful dog walking place, steep in lots of history and views of London.

We are proud to be a Dog Friendly Hotel, we charge £7.50 per dog, per night.

The Clarendon Hotel has 175 bedrooms, and standard facilities in all rooms include: central heating, ensuite bathrooms, Flat screen LCD TVs with Freeview, including radio, coffee and tea making facilities, hairdryer, direct-dial telephone and free WiFi. A varied food menu is to be found in each room and orders can be placed with Reception. All bedrooms are comfortably appointed and tastefully decorated reflecting the individuality of the Clarendon Hotel. Rooms are categorised as Standard, Crown Rooms and Suites. 

While we accept and welcome well behaved dogs and their responsible owners, we do have a few rules.

The Clarendon Hotel is perfect for dogs but we do ask that they are kept on a lead at all times in the public areas.
Dogs are welcome on the Heath at any time of the year. Any fouling on the Heath should be cleared and disposed of in the bins located around the Heath.
Well behaved dogs are welcome in the gardens, as long as no event is taking place, the Lounge, the Chart Bar, and at hotel reception. They are not permitted in the Restaurant or Goffers Lounge.
Dogs are not allowed on the furniture, including beds.
Dogs are only allowed in specific rooms – please check with reception if you are unsure.



Owners are liable for any cleaning or damage charges caused by their dog
Any complaints that arise as a result of noisy dogs must be dealt with by the owner
We reserve the right to ask any dog to be removed from the hotel at any time
We allow a maximum of 2 dogs per room
The hotel does not provide dog food
Prior noticed is preferred
The hotel can accept well behaved cats upon request.
