Dani Bergson’s Story

The Early Years
Dani Bergson grew up in Pinner in North London. As a child, she loved all the Arts and knew that eventually she would pursue a career either performing or painting. She was especially fond of drawing animals and would spend many hours in my back garden sketching the family cats. After completing an Art Foundation at Middlesex University in London, Dani continued her training at The University of Central England in Birmingham and specialised in Printed Textiles, graduating with Honours in 1996.

Print Designer – Wallpapers, fabrics and textiles
After graduating, Dani Bergson moved to Bournemouth for her first professional job as a Textile Designer at Monkwell Fabrics and gained 2 years useful studio experience. She then moved back to London to secure a position as a print designer for Osborne & Little designing new collections of fabrics and wallpapers.

Artist & Illustrator – Published works
Dani Bergson took the next step of becoming a freelance artist and illustrator to pursue her first love, painting in the year 2000. For the first few years, most of her work was commissioned by large print companies for publication as greeting cards, children’s books, prints, posters, wrapping paper and other surface designs.

Galleries – Original Artwork and Limited Editions
As her popularity as an illustrator grew, Dani had increasing interest from galleries and fine art companies. This growing demand for her original artwork led to the publication of limited edition prints of her work by DeMontfort Fine Art (2004-2005) and Washington Green (2005-2007). Dani Bergson original artwork, contemporary canvases and limited-edition prints have since been displayed for sale in numerous art galleries throughout the UK and abroad.

Career Break – Starting a Family
Between 2008 and 2014 Dani Bergson took time out to look after her three young children.

Pet Portraits
As a huge animal lover, pets, especially cats and dogs play a very large part of my family life at home in London. You can often find them curled up next to me in my studio while I work or actually sleeping on my paints!  Capturing the beauty and character of a much loved furry friend in a pet portrait gives me a huge amount of pleasure. There are so many ways to paint a pet. A close up of the face or a full size portrait. Perhaps you want a quirky piece where the animal hides at the bottom. The choice is yours. I can paint on any coloured ground so if your favourite is hot pink, then that’s what I will do.

Over the last twenty years I have specialized in painting and illustrating animals. My most recent work includes highly textured paintings of cats and dogs and   farm animals emphasizing depth and character within their fur.

A pet portrait is designed just for you…

Each pet portrait is completely unique and can be designed in your chosen style, colour palette and size.  Before starting a painting, I will need clear detailed photographs that display your pet’s characteristics and in what position you want them painted. If you live locally, a home visit can be arranged, to provide greater insight into the appearance and personality of your much-loved pet.
