P-A-W (People for Animal Welfare)

P-A-W is a voluntary animal welfare and rescue service established and run by local animal lover and volunteer Gerald James (aka Gee).

Gee has many years experience working with animals, domestic and wild, and is an active supporter of a number of animal welfare charities and related organisations, both local and further afield. These include:

RSPCA
Llys Nini Animal Centre
Dog'sTrust
The Pettifor Trust
Cinnamon Trust
Guide Dogs Cymru
Glamorgan Badger Group
Neath Port Talbot Badger Group
Hope Animal Rescue
Many Tears Animal Rescue
Greenacres Animal Rescue Centre
Secret World Wildlife Centre
PDSA
Lost Pet Patroller (Animal Search UK)
Ty Nant Cat Sanctuary

Greyhound Rescue Wales
CHAPS (Community Horse and Pony Scheme).

Based in Neath and Port Talbot P-A-W makes use of its own equipped transport to travel quite a wide field to assist charities, general public and local authorities, with animal welfare issues and emergencies. P-A-W helps maintain a small local nature reserve, which also has facility to house rescued and treated wildlife for short periods, ie. in preparation for release or transportation to other animal rescue and rehabilitation centres.

Please note that P-A-W does not have any facilities, eg. kennels, to take in rescued or surrendered dogs or cats. In such circumstances P-A-W will be glad to provide information and advice on local services that might be able to help.

If you have any concern for an animal, domestic or wild, or just wish to seek advice or assistance, then please contact P-A-W directly using one of the listed contact methods (preferable by telephone or mobile for a quick response). The identity of all callers will be treated with the utmost confidentiality.

Many of the above animal organisations welcomes new volunteers. If you are interested in giving some of your time to help them help animals then please get in touch with P-A-W for advice on contacts and opportunities etc.
