David Brice Dog Behaviour and Training in Fakenham, Norfolk
Whether you and your dog are struggling with major issues such as dog to human, or dog to dog aggression, separation anxiety or perhaps a more training related issue such as jumping up, excessive barking or pulling on the lead, I am fully qualified and experienced to help and advise you through this.
Improving the quality of life for you, your family and your dog is probably one of your main desired outcomes of any behavior modification or training plan.
I can help you achieve this.
Behaviour Consultations & Methods - What to Expect
I work very closely with the vet practices in Norfolk and all behaviour cases that I see are through a veterinary referral. This is quite straightforward, only involving a simple form for the vet to sign and stamp and means that the whole process of helping your dog is kept on a professional basis and that the vet is kept informed of everything to do with your dog’s behavior modification plan. Alternatively, you can arrange for your vet practice to email me with a medical history and contact name in case further discussion in medical history or diet are required.
It also means that I can discuss your case with the vet and refer you back to them should any form of dietary or pharmacological intervention be required. Most vets in our area are familiar with this system.
Individually Tailored Training for Puppies & Older Dogs
Individually tailored training or ‘one to one’ dog training sessions are usually carried out at the owner’s home; at least for the first session as we will look in detail at your dog’s lifestyle and any of the issues you have before working together to achieve the desired outcome. This applies, whether you have an eight-week-old puppy or a ten-year-old rescue dog or indeed, an adolescent that is slightly out of control! All training plans are bespoke; so all ages, ‘types’, breeds and issues can be covered.
In the case of puppies, whilst really good classes are a huge help with socialisation and training and give you lots of on-going back up; sometimes it is useful to have a session at home.
davendogI am a dog behaviourist, trainer and tutor and have been running my own full time practice in Norfolk for the last nine years, working with owners and their pets in their own homes.
I am a fully qualified CAPBT Companion Animal Practitioner (Level 4 and 5 Diplomas in both Principles and Practical Aspects of Companion Animal Behaviour and Training). I am also a full member of The Institute of Modern Dog Trainers (IMDT) and continue to maintain a rigorous programme of continued professional development for myself to ensure that I am up to date with all relevent methods and latest research.
I work with owners and their dogs on issues ranging from basic obedience to severe aggression, but specialise particularly in behaviour problems and human-dog relationships.
