Whitlingham Broad Campsite - Dog Friendly Campsite In Norwich, Norfolk
Welcome to Whitlingham Broad Campsite! We are a simple campsite situated in the beautiful surroundings of 80 acres of Country Park, within the Broads National Park and just 15 minutes by bike from Norwich's historic city centre.
Pull Up - Pitch Up - Take a deep breath and Relax
Within a few minutes walk you will be able to hire canoes and kayaks to explore the Broad, enjoy woodland walks situated on the Wherrymans wan and Bodicca way long distance footpath. We have pre-erected accommodation in the form of boutique Shepherds huts, Bell tents or a yurt - or bring along your own tent.
We can't promise sunshine but with the museums, shops, cinemas and cafes of Norwich easily accessible by bus, cycle ,foot or car, there is always plenty do.
Our camping pitches are spread over two fields; the Upper and Lower Fields. Both fields are situated just a few minutes walk from the Whitlingham Broad Visitor Centre and cafe and all the walks, activities and peaceful hideaways of the Country Park.
The Upper Field is a car free haven with great views across the Country Park and to the Broad. Parking is just a few meters from the pitches and we can provide specialised luggage transportation devices (which look a little like customized wheel barrows) to help move stuff from your car to your new holiday pitch.
The Lower Field can accommodate tents, camper vans and small motor homes (sorry, no caravans or large trailer tents). For those who prefer to have their car next to their tent (a handy haven if your tent mate is a snorer!) pitches on the lower field can accommodate one car.
Love the idea of a night under canvas but not the thought of canvas you have to pitch yourself? Then pack a bag and stay in one of our gorgeous Bell Tents!
Each tent has a massive 5m footprint and sits in a spacious grassy pitch, perfect for an evening relaxing by the campfire. Our Bell Tents are decked out in funky vintage and retro wares - this is camping in style!
Perfect for families, each tent can comfortably sleep up to 6, with two double futons and two fab foldout mattress beds. Or, for those looking for a little bit of peace and quiet, why not come and stay for a nice chilled out weekend with your partner and enjoy a few nights under canvas?
The tents are fully carpeted with coir matting and have zipped windows at the base for peeking out at the views.
Lola, our fabulous Shepherds Hut offers all the joys of the great outdoors whilst still keeping some of your home comforts. Whether your flinging open the double doors open to embrace the summer sunshine or
cosying up around the log burner, a stay in Lola is the perfect way to enjoy the Norwich and the Broads.
Lola is the perfect retreat for a couple or a family looking for a camping break with a difference. She is cool in the summer, cozy in the winter, and available to book year round.
Welcome to the wonderful Whitlingham Yurts - inspired by traditional Mongolian yurts but with a few twists to adapt it to our climate and add some touches of luxury. Our yurt has a 6m footprint and comes fully furnished with a solid wood double bed including bedding, two comfy double futons and a cosy woodburner.
Perfect for families and groups of friends the yurt offers loads of space, funky furnishing and a large decked area to sit out and and look over the beautiful Whitlingham countryside.
Our yurt also comes with an outside fire pit and a gas BBQ with an additional single side burner for that essential morning cuppa! The Whilingham yurt was specially hand made for us right here in the broads and has been crafted, furnished and finished with love to make sure that it is a magical experience for everyone who stays.
Ronnie The Goods Carriage
A former railway goods wagon used (we think) for moving cattle around, Ronnie has now settled down in an elevated location overlooking the Upper camping field and is perfectly positioned to watch the sun dropping behind the historic avenue of Lime trees, which bounds our site to the west.
Despite his age, Ronnie is fully wired up and ready to welcome you with electricity, small kitchen area with fridge and sink, king-sized super bed and two sleeping pods (suitable for kids up to 14). Outside you get your own area of elevated decking giving fabulous views across the field, a fire pit and a hammock area for maximum relaxation.
New Play Area!
Our new play area was finished in Spring 2018 and is now open and ready for fun! Designed for all ages, the play area is perfect for families to monkey around together: climb the cargo net, balance on the wobbly logs and whizz down the slide. The area is dog free, for guests only and sits centrally within the site so there's no excuse for missing out on the experience.....
