Wagging Tails - Dog Home Boarding in Oxford, Oxfordshire

Family Run Dog Boarding Company
We have had dogs in our family since I was very young and I currently have two dogs - Scooby who is a Golden Retriever and Tyler, a black Labrador. We live on the edge of the Ridgeway which is part of the National Trail running through the Chilterns and is an outstanding area of natural beauty. I love to go on long walks with them and my husband and we are always exploring new walks in and around Oxfordshire.

Wagging Tails - Oxfordshire

As a dog owner I appreciate the dilemma in finding the right place to leave my boys when we go away, and I have never felt that kennels were right for them. It was during my search for the best holiday home for them that I fell into the most perfect job launching the Oxfordshire branch of Wagging Tails. I have to say that I have never worked in such an enjoyable and satisfying role.

My aim is to help dog owners in Oxfordshire find the perfect holiday for their best friends so that they can fully relax whilst they are on holiday or away with work.

It is important to me to build a strong rapport with my Carers who know I am always on hand should they need any assistance. This in turn gives the owners additional reassurance that the best possible care is being given to their dogs

About Our Carers
All our carers come from various walks of life and are experienced with different breeds of dogs they have all been vetted, interviewed and assessed. Where necessary our Carers are licensed by their local Council to comply with the Animal Boarding Establishments Act 1963 and are fully insured through Wagging Tails Pet Business Insurance. I match each owner's dogs with the most suitable carers and insist on a 'sniffing out meeting' taking place at the Carers home before the board. I believe it is very important for owners to meet the chosen carer to gain peace of mind and feel confident their best friend will have a great holiday! I always aim to place dogs back with the same carer for subsequent holidays as the dogs and Carers build a strong bond.

“Thank you for the lovely photo of Buffy while on holiday with Verena and John. She was clearly well looked after and loved because when we came to the door to collect her she just looked at us as if to say, "Sorry, but I've decided to stay with Verena & John!" It was also so kind of Verena to send us photo updates of Buffy, which all of us, especially the children, appreciated. We will absolutely use you again in the near future and would happily recommend you to other families. Best regards, ”

“Dear Teresa, We had been struggling to find suitable care for Sacher when we are away on our travels and her one visit to kennels was not exactly a spectacular success! Lyn and David were tremendous. She seems to have been extremely happy during her stay with them and was well fed, well exercised and well cared for while we were away. Being part of a family is obviously the solution for Sacher. We were also extremely impressed with your professionalism in ensuring that you had all the appropriate information about Sacher and by the fact that we had the opportunity to meet Lyn and David at their home beforehand so we could see where she would be staying. We shall definitely be using Lyn and David again. Thanks for your help, Michael and Carole, Shippon”

“Our rescue Staffie 'Flea' has never done very well in kennels and it is such a relief to have found Wagging Tails! Flea is a high energy dog who needs long walks and a lot of attention and I was a little worried at first about leaving her in someone else's house. However I needn't have worried and she has stayed with Ann & John twice now and is relaxed and happy (trotting round with her ball in her mouth) when we go to collect her. The other big bonus (apart from the very reasonable rates) is that, unlike traditional kennels, you aren't restricted to specific times when you can drop off and collect your dog so if we get back on a Sunday evening we don't need to wait till Monday to get our furbaby back! We have already recommended Wagging Tails to many of our doggy friends and just wanted to say a huge thanks to you and Ann & John for having us! It's great to find someone we can trust which means we can go away and completely relax and not worry about Flea pining in a kennel. Many thanks, Lisa & Pete, Faringdon”

“We've used Wagging Tails twice so far; the first time when Nida was only 6 months old, and we will gladly do so again this summer. Each time Nida has been looked after extremely well in a welcoming home from home. She particularly loved the running space and company of ‘Haggis’ at her last stay, which was organised for us by Teresa at very short notice. I think Nida and Haggis became instant friends - she leapt out of the car to find him when we returned after the sniffing-out visit. Best regards, James”

“A Happy Dog is a Happy Owner My adoring rescue-dog, Bailey, is with me all day every day, which made holidays and trips away especially stressful, he hated being left! But not any longer. Now I only have to park the car at his 'holiday home' and he quite literally bolts for the front door and barks to be let in. He is home again.... Once inside, he re-establishes himself with the house, dogs and owners (usually in that order), then ignores me completely while he settles in to the garden - not-so-much as an over-the-shoulder glance as I leave him. It is so great to know that he is happy and enjoying his holiday; I am confident of the love and care the family give him and am sure in the knowledge he is going to have a wonderful time and be well looked after. This allows me to get on with my holiday, without the stress and worry over my pooch! Teresa takes great care to match the dog with the right family and dogs, and Bailey always speaks very highly of his carers when he comes back home. If you haven't tried Wagging Tails for your dog, I highly recommend them Rob, Oxford”

“I am so delighted to have found Teresa and Wagging Tails to look after Sadie and Sasha when we are away. So far, they have been to 3 different holiday homes, and each time the stay has gone perfectly. They are clearly happy and so well cared for by people who exude enthusiasm and interest for all things canine! The website and Teresa’s service are efficient and friendly. All in all this whole set up is first class, many thanks. All good wishes, Chris, Kidlington”

“Hi Teresa, We have just received your lovely letter and pics of Paddy on his holidays. He had the best time and Verona and Nigel were great. He was really well looked after and can't wait for his next visit. Once again we had a stress free holiday and would highly recommend your service to people like us who need to know their best friend is being looked after too. Many thanks, The Howard's x, Oxfordshire.”
