The Wychwood Inn

The Wychwood Inn - Dog Friendly Inn in Shipton under Wychwood, Oxfordshire

The Wychwood Inn is an award winning, family run Cotswold restaurant, hotel and pub located in the picturesque village of Shipton-under-Wychwood, Oxfordshire.

Shortened to 'Shipton' by locals, this small village sits on the edge of the Cotswolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). We are fortunate to be surrounded by historical sites and beautiful countryside; through which our guests can walk, bike or even boat.

Rooms
We have five stylish ensuite rooms above our Cotswold restaurant, all with deluxe duvets and fluffy towels.

Our rooms are individually decorated in modern, comforting colours whilst keeping a traditional impression of the 17th century building.

We want you to feel comfortable and relaxed when staying with us at The Wychwood Inn so we provide toiletries, tea and coffee, fresh milk, complimentary water and all the little comforts you can expect. Homemade flapjacks are on offer to enjoy with your hot drink.

Reading lights illuminate both sides of individual beds, and we have supplied plenty of hanging space.

Each room has good WiFi and contains a flat screen TV. A Sealy mattress offers a very comfortable night's sleep. Extra pillows and blankets are available.

Our contemporary, ensuite bathrooms have mirrors with shaver sockets, mirror demisters and lights.

If there is anything more you require, just ask. We are available until 10pm at reception.

Dogs
Bring man’s best friend. We are proud to be a dog friendly country inn - whether staying, drinking or eating with us. We welcome both you and your dog for dining in the bar area following a day of exploring the Cotswolds.

Sit back and relax with a drink in your hand and your companion snuggled comfortably at your feet. When booking, please advise that your dog will be joining you. For room reservations there is a charge of £15.00 per dog, per night.

Eat and Drink
Our well known restaurant in the Oxfordshire Cotswolds is coordinated by our admirable head chef Joe McCarthy.

The menus are always full of delicious and distinct choices that can be enjoyed in our ambient, dog friendly pub, peaceful Cotswold restaurant, private dining room or in our large pub garden.

A succession of new and devoted clientele from all over the Cotswolds and beyond are welcomed time and time again. It is worth booking a table to save disappointment.

The Wychwood Inn chose to join the AA three years ago and has been presented with the AA Dinner Award every year.
The main bar is one of our most distinguished areas. It is a large, open area with a glass roof lantern over the bar, natural stone walls and a superb oak floor.

This is the place to prop-up the bar, listening to the hustle and bustle of our visitors and friendly staff.

The splendid bar room is the hub of The Wychwood Inn leading you, at choice, into the charming sections that make up the stunning building.

Placed imaginatively at one end is a snug where guests can sit in cosy leather chairs and chat away to their heart’s content. At the other end, patio doors open out to the beautiful pub garden, perfect for serving summer drinks. Why not drop by after walking the Oxfordshire Way?
