East Trewent Farm

East Trewent Farm - Dog Friendly Cottages in Pembroke, Pembrokeshire

Just a few minutes’ walk from Freshwater East beach and the Pembrokeshire coastal path, our comfortable self-catering cottages and B&B are the perfect base for an idyllic holiday in this beautiful part of West Wales.

Whether you’re looking for a family beach holiday or a quiet out-of-season break, we look forward to welcoming you. There’s space to store boats, bikes or surfboards, while the Pembrokeshire countryside offers something for everyone, from castles to craft breweries, bird-watching to beach cafes, walking to eating out.

Milking Parlour (sleeps 2)
Converted, as the name suggests, from the farm’s original milking parlour, the front door to this cosy cottage leads straight into a wood-panelled sitting/dining room with exposed beams. All on one level, the cottage is well heated for the colder months and has a bright, well-equipped kitchen and a double bedroom with a spacious en suite bath/shower room.

The Granary (sleeps 6)
The former granary has a spacious, double-height living/dining room leading off the well-equipped kitchen. Equally cosy in the winter, the cottage has full central heating while the living room has a wood burner and French windows leading out to a shared large grassy outdoor space with plenty of space for children to play or for you to sit and listen to the sound of the waves on nearby Freshwater East beach.

Also downstairs is a large bathroom with a shower over the bath and the first double bedroom. On the first floor, there is a galleried seating area with two bedrooms off it: one double with plenty of space for an additional cot, and one twin bedroom.

The Cart House (sleeps 4-5)
As the name suggests, this was once the cart house for East Trewent Farm and still has the arched entrance way, leading into a tiled hall with exposed beams. Downstairs, you’ll find the bath/shower room and a well-equipped kitchen – both completely refurbished this year – leading to a spacious living/dining room.  There’s a brand new dishwasher and fridge-freezer in the kitchen as well as a washing machine. Upstairs are two large bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two single beds, with the possibility of a third folding bed if required. There is plenty of space for a cot.

Outside, the Cart House has its own patio table and chairs, with a sunshade, and new glazed French windows give access directly onto the shared grassy field at the rear of the cottages. The field is perfect for a game of cricket or football, or for just relaxing to the sound of the sea.

Like all our cottages, it’s only a short walk to Freshwater East Beach and the coast path.

Dogs Welcome
We are happy to welcome one well-behaved dog (occasionally more – please call us to discuss if you’d like to bring more than one dog with you) in each of our holiday cottages and Freshwater East beach is dog-friendly all year round, making it the ideal location for a holiday with your four-legged friend.

As well as the Pembrokeshire coastal path, there are several great walks straight from your door – we’ve put together a list of our favourites which you can find in the information folder in each cottage.  There’s an outdoor tap and hosepipe so you can wash off mud if you’ve been for a long walk, or sand if you’ve been at the beach.  We can lend you dog towels if you need them so you can keep your cottage clean and dry.

While each cottage has its own patio, all our guests share the grassy field at the back of the cottages.
