The Secret Yurts - Dog Friendly Glamping in Welshpool, Powys

You are about to uncover a secret: hidden away from the world in the Welsh countryside, our luxury yurts are a perfect opportunity to get back to nature.  Revel in the fresh air, take in the wild flowers - wander in our woodland and admire the views.

Dogs
We welcome dogs of all breeds at The Secret Yurts. When taking over The Secret Yurts in late 2022, making the venue safe and suitable for dogs was one of the first big changes. Dogs are part of our family, and after many years running a successful dog training and behaviour business, Michelle has a good idea of how to make holidays with dogs more fun and relaxing!

Dogs can stay free of charge in Oak or Birch Yurts.

2 Oak Yurt (Set high on our hill, feels a bit like a treehouse or maybe a Tree-Yurt?)
Our newest yurt set in an elevated position, giving treetop views of the woodland, surrounding farmland and night sky from the deck or the new Ofuro woodfired hot tub. 

Oak also has a window in one side, overlooking our hedge, the brook, then farmland, allowing you to lie in bed and watch the birds or sometimes the neighbouring sheep. 

Oak is also suitable for dogs.

3 Birch Yurt  (let the babbling brook send you off to a restful slumber)
Probably the most secluded yurt, also alongside the brook, with a slightly larger deck, making it especially suitable for larger canine guests. 

Birch has a 4 person, round hot tub and an outdoor kitchen unit on the raised deck – perfect for storing drinks or preparing your barbecue.

Rowan Yurt (tucked away, with an open, suntrap deck)
Rowan is nestled amongst the foliage and has a new Premium Ofuro woodfired hot tub. 
It is closest to the wetrooms and kitchens, although guests from the other yurts don’t pass Rowan on their route to the facilities. 

Rowan is kept dog free, it’s for humans seeking utter relaxation only!

Our Paddock
New for 2024 we now have a fully enclosed large paddock where you can engage in all manner of off-lead fun with or without a dog! The dog exercise area is wooded with exciting long grass and bushes to explore. In the paddock at the top of the hill is our Hilltop Lookout which is the location of Tally's Bench. On a clear day the view along the valley towards Welshpool is epic. On a clear night the celestial array visible away from all the light sources of the site is simply breathtaking. Also on site we have a small stream in which our dogs love to splash about.
