“I came across PetStay Somerset quite by chance and decided to give Elaine a call and discuss what was involved. We met Dave and Sue with our dog Leo (a toy poodle) in February at their home and was made very welcome, it was a lovely environment and I felt it would suit him very well. We have just returned from holiday (21 April) and found him in great spirits. I was very anxious whilst away but in the end decided to get on with my holiday knowing he was in good hands. Dave and Sue are a lovely couple and he is going to them again in August.”

Elaine was really helpful, informative and matched him perfectly! We felt reassured from the off that this would be a brilliant service and we were not disappointed. Our first meeting with Lyn and Derek went well. Riley took to them immediately and settled down for a nap whilst we chatted about his routine and habits. He was clearly very relaxed! We had no hesitation agreeing to proceed with Lyn and Derek. They provided a caring home for him which suited him perfectly. On our return from our holiday Riley looked like he had been extremely well looked after. “We were very happy with Dodge's stay with the PetStay carer Ginny. When we arrived to pick him up he was curled under the kitchen table at her feet and I think would have happily stayed there! It was lovely to have a photo and update by email half way through the week. His arthritis was bothering him when we arrived but Ginny managed occasional medication, had put rugs in the hallway where he was slipping on the hard floor, and had gone to the trouble of fencing off the garden pond because on our first visit he seemed likely to fall in! It was perfect for him to be able to just have a stroll out of the garden into the field for a short walk. “As we all our with our pets, I worry about putting my newly acquired rescue Spaniel Cross in kennels. I even thought about a no holiday rule to ensure my dog wouldn't get distressed and even bought a camper van so he could be part of all our holidays. However, after deciding to book a holiday abroad I was on a mission to find somewhere perfect for Murphy, just what he deserves. I came across PetStay and I'm so glad I did. Although I did have another problem in that Murphy wasn't relaxed around big dogs, possibly due to unknown history. A long story short, Elaine introduced my to Pauline and her dog Jim, a large Rhodesian Ridgeback. We met them before I decided, as it is important for me to ensure Murphy is happy. Well as soon as he caught eyes of Jim his mission was to try and get him to play, whilst tugging on his ears! The initial visit put my mind at ease; we completed a tester weekend allowing my husband and I to go to London before making the booking for our February holiday. Well, he had a lovely time. Enjoyed the garden and playing with Jim, it has also put him at ease with larger dogs which makes things a lot easier when we are out walking. Thank you to Elaine for fantastic communication and matching Murphy with a lovely family. I'm now happy about going away in February and also in future knowing that Murphy has a home away from his own home.”
