Welcome to the Ufford Crown, a dog friendly, family run pub and restaurant in the charming village of Ufford, Suffolk.
Proprietors Max and Polly Durrant reopened the doors of the Ufford Crown in April 2011, with the aim of offering delicious food, wines and beers in a friendly and welcoming place. Max and Polly are joined by accomplished chef Will Hardiman, who creates tempting menus, using seasonal produce from his local suppliers.
The Ufford Crown comprises of a spacious restaurant, a cosy bar and a stylish lounge area which is popular for diners as well as private parties. There is also a terrace and a garden at the rear where warm summer evenings and lazy Sundays can be enjoyed.

Lunch and evening a la carte menus change daily and always offer a range of fresh fish, meat and vegetarian options sourced from our local suppliers. The menus are a blend of traditional dishes such as Shepherd’s Pie made with chunks of braised lamb shank or Will’s own beef and Paprika sausages and mash, to more discerning plates such as confit of rabbit leg, served with loin of rabbit or venison fillet served with game pie. Staples on the menu include the Foie Gras and Chicken Liver Parfait, spicy Lobster Bisque or the Dingley Dell Pork Belly with crispy crackling. Will also has a passion for using unusual cuts of meat in his fair, with delights such as duck hearts and sweet breads making a regular appearance on the menu.
An Argentinian imported char grill produces an extensive range of steaks cooked to your liking which include a 50 oz rib of Ketley beef which can be shared by 3/4 persons accompanied by homemade dauphinoise potatoes or frites. Sunday lunches at the Ufford Crown are all about our roast lunches; a variety of choice, including Dingley Dell Pork belly, rare Ketley beef, stuffed chicken breast and rack of lamb with sala verde, accompanied by Will’s giant Yorkshires, roast potatoes and seasonal vegetables, leaving you just enough room for one of our delicious puddings.
At the Bar
Beers on tap include Adnams bitter, a seasonal guest bitter, Amstel, Bierra Moretti from Italy, Heineken, Guiness and the local favourite – Aspalls Cider. Bottled beers include Peroni, Leffe and Sol along with Aspalls Blush.
Max has undertaken much enjoyable research to put together an extensive wine list, of which many can be tasted by the glass. Max will be happy to offer advice of pairing wines with all elements of the menu, whether it is the Chilean Late Harvest Morandé Sauvignon Blanc dessert wine with the Foie Gras Parfait or the vibrant Madiran, Domaine Berthoumieu from France with the Confit Duck Leg.
Our bar staff can offer a choice of cocktails including refreshing Mojito and Kir Royale but now the nights are drawing in a spicy bloody Mary or mulled wine may be preferred.
