Happy Houndz - Dog Walker in Surbiton, Kingston, Teddington, Twickenham and surrounding area in Surrey
Happy Houndz offer a free trial walk so your dog can get to know us and we can get to know them.
1 hour minimum group walks (small groups only) in local parks/woods. As we can get a little bored with walking the same routes every day we think it's possible your dogs do too. We therefore offer varied walks in local parks/woods to enhance your dogs stimulation and enjoyment. We keep the group small and managable so we can give them our full attention and have better control. Shorter walks are also available by request.
We use only positive reinforcement methods, have volunteered with an APDT dog training club, are mature, flexible, reliable, experienced and professional. We ensure that every dog on our walk is having fun and play ball with those dogs that enjoy it and give them a basic dry at the end of the walk.
Debby and Claire are licensed to walk in the Royal Parks. The rest of our small team prefer to walk in other local parks/woodlands.
For group walks, your dog cannot have aggression issues with humans/other dogs. If this is the case, we can recommend someone who specialises in dogs with aggression issues.
We care passionately about the dogs in our care and are fully licenced, insured and CRB checked. We can also supply references from existing clients.
We fully appreciate that your pets are an important part of your family and look after them as though they were part of ours too. As we don't have the high demands of a young family to contend with, we can be flexible about the times that we are available.
Please note that for the safety of all the dogs in our care we are unable to accept any un-neutered dogs/bitches for group walks over 1 year old.
We cover Surbiton, Kingston upon Thames, Ham, Petersham, Twickenham, Whitton, The Hamptons, St. Margarets, Isleworth, Teddington, East Molesey, Thames Ditton, Long Ditton, Richmond, Barnes, Hounslow, Sunbury and surrounds.
Other Services We Offer:
Weekend/Holiday Home from Home Boarding
Some dogs get very stressed by being in kennels so we offer a loving, secure, home boarding environment for your dog while you are away. Your dog(s) will stay with us in our home when you go on holiday or away for the weekend and this service includes a minimum of 1 hour walk (or less, if your dog requires it), play, and lots of tender, loving, care and cuddles. As we don't have children, we are able to accept the older dog who wants a quiet life, or those that are unfamiliar with children.
Prior to you going away, we encourage you to visit us in our home with your dog so you can both get to know us and the environment. For those dogs that don't already know us, we also offer an afternoon's free board (including a walk) prior to the first time you board your dog with us so we can ensure your dog is comfortable with us before you go away.
So we can give your dog(s) our full attention, we board no more than 3 dogs at any one time so please contact us as soon as possible for availability.
Please note we cannot "group" home board any un-neutered dogs/bitches in season over 1 year old unless by special arrangement. However, your dog can be boarded alone by request for an extra charge.
Dog Day Care
We offer a loving, secure, home environment for your dog/puppy when you can't be there. We include an hour's walk (or less if your dog/pup requires it). There will never be more than 4 dogs (incl those weekend/holiday boarding) in our home at any one time so we can give them our full attention. You are welcome to drop them off with us from 07:30am or we will collect them in our air-conditioned car between 9 and 10am. For anything over 8 hours there will be a small additional cost.
Daytime Home Visit
For the older dog or one who's convalescing and so doesn't require a long walk, we can come to your home to let them out for a toilet break, play with them, give them lots of tlc, any medication they may need and whatever else they may require.
Evening Home Visit
If you're worried about leaving your dog home alone while you go out for the evening, we can pay them a visit of at least 30 minutes at your home to let them into the garden, feed them, play and give them lots of TLC or whatever else they require to help break the evening up.
Puppy Visits and Socialisation
Puppies need a lot of attention and can't be left alone too long in their early months, so we offer puppy visits for 30 mins minimum, where we'll let your puppy out for a toilet break, clear up any little accidents (if necessary), feed (if necessary), do some basic training (if you would like us to) cuddle and play with your pup before securely shutting him/her in their designated area again.
As your pup gets older and is able to go out, we offer short walks initially, gradually building up until they're ready to join us on our longer group walks which will help with their early socialisation enabling them to grow up into a happy, confident, adult. As we have first-hand experience, through a friend, of an unsocialised and therefore fearful aggressive (though still very lovely) adult dog, puppy socialisation is a particular passion so if there's anything else we can do to help you socialise your puppy, please let us know. We can also recommend a great positive reinforcement training school where you and your pup will learn all the basics you need (graduating onto advanced courses if you wish)
Though we specialise in dogs, if you have any other pets that you'd like us to look after while you're away, please contact us as we should be able to assist you. If, however, we can't, we will be able to recommend someone we trust who can.
Whichever service you require, we will meet you and your dog at your convenience, either at your home or ours. During this meeting you can get to know us and we will be asking you about your dog's needs, their routines, favourite toys, games and treats, as well as all the important details such as any medications they may require, their vets details and whether or not you'd like us to let them off lead on their walks
“Debby has been looking after our two puppies for the last 6 months, this care has included daily visits, long walks in the park and even accommodating Chester & Rocco when my partner and I have been away on holiday. Debby is completely trustworthy, reliable, honest and diligent. Debby has also reinforced our training routine with our puppies which has helped us enormously making sure good habits are encouraged. Chester & Rocco have built up a deep rapport with Debby and see her as an extended member of the family. I would highly recommend Debby and look forward to working with her in the future. “Debby is fantastic and we are glad we found her to look after our young German Shorthaired Pointer! We must admit our GSP is a highly active dog, always excited about everything and very inquisitive, but Debby has demonstrated a lot of patience and care and we can see that she has a special bond with dogs! She has also helped us to train our GSP with positive reinforcement techniques and as a consequence our dog's behaviour, health and diet has improved visibly. Debby is also very professional in dealing with humans! She understands that we are nervous about leaving our dog, answers all our queries, helps by sharing her experiences and co-operates with us for the benefit of our GSP. We are very grateful for the support we receive from Debby and think it is the very best thing that we could have done for our dog. Phoebe & Markus - with GSP "Silver"”

“It's always a pleasure to hand our dogs over to Debby to look after when we’re away. Both Burt and Harry love being with her and that's what makes us happy! Debby first looked after our bonkers black Lab Harry when he was just 12 weeks old and eating EVERYTHING! Whenever they’re staying with her she keeps us up to date on their adventures and sends us photographs of them mooching about on their walks. We adore our dogs and need someone we can trust to look after them. We honestly couldn't recommend Debby highly enough. Clint & Sally (Burt & Harry) ”
