Katie Brill – Positive Dog Training – Dog trainer in Tadworth, Surrey
Raise a happy, confident and well-mannered dog from puppyhood and beyond. With over 22 years of hands-on experience in dog behaviour and training, Katie helps owners understand the “why” behind their dog’s actions, building trust, clarity and calm. She offers modern, reward-based methods that are ethical, kind and focused on long-term results for real life.
Katie is an ABTC registered trainer through PACT and one of only a handful of Certified Separation Anxiety Trainers (CSAT) in the UK. Her approach is practical and supportive, guiding you step by step so your dog learns without fear or confusion. Whether your goal is loose lead walking, reliable recall or feeling confident leaving your dog at home, you’ll get clear coaching tailored to your dog’s temperament and your routine.
Separation Anxiety Training is delivered 100% remotely via Zoom or Teams, allowing Katie to observe your dog in its normal environment. Using systematic desensitisation, she designs a paced plan that teaches your dog that being alone can feel safe. Packages run over four weeks and include an initial assessment, five personalised training plans per week, a weekly live reassessment, data tracking to spot trends, and help setting up calls if needed.
Puppy Training in Surrey helps you lay foundations early. Across structured sessions, you’ll work on name response, house training, drop and leave, sit and down, recall, loose lead walking, polite greetings, calm handling for vet and grooming visits, waiting at doorways and settling around everyday distractions. Katie supports children’s behaviour around dogs and shows you how to use play and enrichment to channel energy in the right way.
Adult Dog Training (1+ year) focuses on everyday manners and confidence. Typical goals include reducing barking by identifying triggers, improving recall around distractions, walking nicely on a lead, preventing jumping up, stopping stealing and chewing, building focus with cues such as Sit, Down, Stay, Leave, Drop and eye contact, and helping dogs stay calm around other dogs and people. Sessions are one to one, practical and welcoming.
Additional services include Dog Safety Talks, Dog Daycare, Dog Boarding and Dog Walking. Katie is fully insured, first aid certified and holds a 5-star Dog Boarding and Daycare licence with Reigate & Banstead Borough Council (Licence name: Mrs Katie Brill; Licence number: 24/02221/AWHB). References are available on request, giving you peace of mind that your dog is in capable, caring hands.
