King's Head - Dog Friendly Inn in Gower, Swansea

Welcome to the Kings Head Inn. We are a 17th century four star inn based in Llangennith, Gower. A truly unique corner of the world that has something to offer everyone.

A row of three 17th century buildings behind a splendid rough stone wall make up the King’s Head, which stands opposite the largest church on the Gower peninsula, in the coastal village of Llangennith. From the village, there is easy access to Llangennith beach, where the sand stretches to Rhosilli, nearly four miles away.

The King’s Head has been owned and managed by the Stevens family since the 1980s. In the olde worlde character bars, with beams and exposed stone, an impressive variety of food is served, almost all of it home-made and where possible based on fresh Welsh produce.

The rooms are separate to the pub and consist of three accommodation blocks, consisting of Town House (next door to the pub) where we have all our large family rooms and 2 stone buildings located at the back of the pub. All of our rooms are of a very high standard, with en-suite facilities, Plasma TV screens and Tea & Coffee making facilities. Our rooms offer a host of features which we hope will make your stay most relaxing.

Some of our rooms are pet-friendly and we also have a pet-friendly area in the pub where well-behaved pets are welcome. Our staff love to welcome you and your dogs. We have a selection of doggie treats including dog hampers if you wish to spoil your pup! The pub even has a dog menu with dog ice cream for dessert! The beach is also dog-friendly all year.

The pub serves high quality pub food all year round. Please note our menus continuously change using where possible fresh local ingredients. The pub is open from 11am-11pm Monday – Saturday, and 12-10.30pm on Sunday. Food is served all day every day from Midday-9pm with the exception of Christmas day. Breakfast is served from 8.30am to 10.30am and a brunch menu is served everyday between 10:30am and 12pm.

British cooking is well represented by our pub menu with some excellent dishes such as our steak and ale pie using Welsh ale, Beer Battered fish and home-made chips! We also offer a selection of vegan and vegetarian dishes, and many dishes without gluten. If you have special dietary requirements please let us know.

We also have a large Specials Board for our finer foods – look out for Welsh Lamb or even Welsh Venison!

The King’s Head has a selection of Welsh Real Ales. We vary our offering regularly, including seasonal ales.

The bar also has a large selection of gins, and have one of the largest collections of malt whiskies outside Scotland (with over 100 available) and they were nearly all personally collected from Scotland apart from our local Penderyn Whisky.
