Wagging Tails - Dog Home Boarding in Warwickshire

Family Run Dog Boarding Company
As an only child I grew up with a menagerie of dogs, horses and guinea pigs as playmates. I spent many happy hours with the two family Boxer dogs in the garden building jumps and obstacles for them to jump.
After leaving home I pursued a busy and fulfilling career in Central London and the South East as a Regional Business manager. I then became a full time working mum to three boys meaning that our life style was not suitable for anything more challenging than a goldfish.
My boys have always nagged for a dog and would always stop people to stroke their dogs. When my husband and I had our “escape to the country” moment and we decided to leave suburbia for the country I gave up my career to focus on the boys and the move. For our boys the promise of a dog when we moved cushioned the blow of leaving school friends behind!

Dog Home Boarding

It was early 2012 that Dexter the Labradoodle entered our lives and completely took over! As a large active dog he needs plenty of exercise so when I saw an advert from Wagging Tails - Warwickshire looking for carers I saw it as something enjoyable that I could do from home and earn some extra pocket money in the process. The family and Dexter really enjoy the company of the assortment of dogs that come to stay and I was impressed by the level of efficiency and organisational skills of Teresa who operates the Oxfordshire branch.
It was always the plan for me to return back to work once the boys had settled but with my beloved Dexter now deeply ensconced into the family plus my disillusionment of working for a large international corporation once again, I started to become interested in extending my role with Wagging Tails. After speaking to Teresa about how successful her franchise was becoming I decided to take the plunge and apply.
Three months on I have set up my company and am looking forward to launching my new career running the Wagging Tails Warwickshire branch in January 2013 covering the whole of the CV postcode area.

About Our Carers
All our carers come from various walks of life and are experienced with different breeds of dogs they have all been vetted, interviewed and assessed. Where necessary our Carers are licensed by their local Council to comply with the Animal Boarding Establishments Act 1963 and are fully insured through Wagging Tails Pet Business Insurance. I match each owner's dogs with the most suitable carers and insist on a 'sniffing out meeting' taking place at the Carers home before the board. I believe it is very important for owners to meet the chosen carer to gain peace of mind and feel confident their best friend will have a great holiday! I always aim to place dogs back with the same carer for subsequent holidays as the dogs and Carers build a strong bond.

Pet Care

Our Reputation

Our Aim
Our Aim is to ensure that owners can go away safe in the knowledge that their dogs are being loved and cared for and for all dogs boarding with Wagging Tails Carers to get a holiday of their own, full of love, exercise and those all important cuddles!

“Thanks to Sarah's help at Wagging Tails, we were able to secure a lovely carer for our 19 month old Miniature Schnauzer, Bertie, at short notice. We were let down by another boarder company just 2 weeks before our departure. Sarah recommended Lorraine to us who had owned a miniature schnauzer. The 'sniffing out' meeting was held the same day as our enquiry. Within no time at all Bertie was sitting on Lorraine's lap and licking her! No greater compliment from Bertie who is a bit reserved with strangers! We were able to go on holiday knowing that Bertie was happy and that he would be well looked after. On collection Bertie looked so happy and cared for. He was keen for us to meet his new best friend Lorraine's bird! They both talked to one another! We were so pleased with the boarder we have booked another holiday for Bertie with Wagging Tails. Regards, Sonia and Dave ”

“After much internet searching trying to find someone who could look after our dog, Bacchus, to the same standard as we do, we stumbled across Sarah and Dexter (CV area). I was unsure as to whether she'd be willing to accept Bacchus as not only were we just outside the "areas covered" but Bacchus was at less than two years old, un-neutered. All those worries were dismissed when having phoned Sarah, she reassured me that she is fully licensed to take un-neutered dogs and that if we were willing to travel to her, then she would be willing to look after him. We visited for the "sniffing out" meeting before we booked our holiday to make sure that Dexter and Bacchus got on and having left that day we were reassured that we could book our holiday knowing that Bacchus too would have a great break himself. Leaving a dog behind is very difficult, however a text sent a few hours later from Sarah dispelled any worries about him not settling in. In fact, he was having a whale of a time and had been swimming! Collecting him we both knew that he'd had a great time with Sarah, her family and possibly more than them, Dexter. The two of them certainly hit it off and we know that Bacchus missed him significantly for the first few days back at home. We are so glad we found Wagging Tails and hope that Sarah and Dexter are available next time Bacchus wants us out of the way! Thanks once again, Janet, Paul & Bacchus”

“Dear Sarah, Thank you for your lovely letter and positive comments from Sandra - what a lovely lady. She welcomed Toffee with open arms and is such a warm yet grounded and sensible person. Toffee loves everyone, that's undisputed, but took a shine to Sandra and her family, all of whom were there when we went to pick her up last Sunday! We know that she was well looked after and we were both able to relax on holiday, having a wonderful break without worrying what our little naughty was up to. Apart from the snoring I think she was a hit too, Shih Tzus tend to have big characters don't they? Anyway thank you again a great service that really works, very professional and caring. We will certainly come to you/Sandra again in the future . Best wishes Frances and Nigel, Warwickshire”

“This was our first holiday abroad with our first puppy ever so I was so nervous of leaving Zeena anywhere. I found Wagging Tails through the internet and almost instantly thought that this was the kind of service I would want to use and I was completely correct. To book Zeena in with Wagging Tails was so straight forward and I thought it was really nice that Sarah took the time to carefully consider the people who our Pup would be staying with based on the type of dog and the kind of dog/environment she would be staying in. The sniffing out process was a great way to feel confident in the fact that our dog was going to be safe and well cared for. We went away feeling totally confident of how are dog was going to be treated and cared for whilst we went for a few shandy's in the sunshine. When we came home Zeena was happy, healthy and seems to have really enjoyed her time. I would use Wagging Tails again in a heart beat and would strongly recommend the service to anyone else who owns a dog. Thank you Wagging Tails! Richard, Coventry”

“Thanks for all your help over finding a carer for Ernie and Macy. After my earlier experience with another company, I was so relieved that they were happy and well looked after. Here is my testimonial if you would like to use it... I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Wagging Tails to find excellent carers for your dogs. I have two Havanese puppies and they were looked after by Vera and Graham, who were fantastic with them. Vera listened to all my needs with the pups and having long coats, they needed to be groomed everyday to stop any matts forming. My pups, Ernie and Macy, were looked after for 3 weeks and when I picked them up, they were happy and their coats had been very well maintained, they looked right at home. Ernie and Macy will definitely be seeing Vera and Graham again and would like to thank you Sarah for putting us in touch with them as they are a lovely couple. Jennifer, Ernie and Macy”

“We would like to thank Sarah for finding us such a wonderful carer, Anne for Oscar while we were on holiday in July. Oscar is part of the family and I knew instantly at the sniffing out session he would be well looked after and loved. Oscar warmed to Anne instantly and although he was pleased to see us a couple of weeks later, there was a backwards glance that he was leaving his new friend behind. We Would definitely recommend Wagging Tails, a very professional service and a warm welcome from the carers. First class service. Thank you. Simon & Di, Warwick”
