Church Norton Beach - Free parking by Church Norton Church.

Instead of turning left towards the main Reserve and Harbour, which has many birds in it - resident and migratory, -so dogs would need to be on a lead; turn right onto the shingle beach protection. Only one area during nesting season may be a problem with dogs so may need to be on the lead for a short while. The rest is shingle and sand bar, with a lovely view towards Bognor Regis and beyond.

Good for quiet, contemplative walks, beachcombing, safe swimming as long as you don't try by the Harbour entrance spit which is very dangerous. A quiet, not often used beach. Good for fishing from too!

Access fine at all states of the tide. NOT wheelchair friendly due to shingle.

Dog friendly beach kindly added by Chichester Self Catering

Reviews

“As stated this beach is on the RSPB nature reserve and all dogs should be on a lead or under close control. In May, June, July rare beach nesting birds nest on the shingle beach and must be protected. The car park only holds 20 cars and gets full very early on busy days. There are no toilets or facilities here. Please keep your dogs away from fenced off and roped off areas during bird nesting season. Under the 1981 Wildlife and Countryside act it is a criminal offence to disturb nesting birds and you may suffer an unlimited fine fine or even a prison sentence in extreme cases.”
