Grove Lodge Veterinary Practices in Sussex

We are the best-equipped veterinary hospital for small animal care in Sussex.

At Grove Lodge Vets, we are very proud of our high levels of expertise, care and equipment.

We are extremely fortunate to have a number of vets who specialise or have a special interest in many different areas of veterinary medicine and we have RCVS Certificate holders or Diploma holders, in Medicine, Surgery, Ophthalmology, Cardiology, Dermatology and Diagnostic Imaging, meaning that most illnesses or surgical conditions can be treated within our practice without the need to travel elsewhere.

We have separate cat and dog wards at our veterinary hospital in Worthing as well as a dedicated ward for isolating infectious patients.

At Grove Lodge Vets, we understand it can be very stressful to be parted from your poorly pet, so we telephone or text you regularly to keep you updated on your pet's progress.

We have the most up to date equipment for monitoring anaesthetics and all patients have oxygen and carbon dioxide levels monitored at all times by a qualified nurse during anaesthesia for even the most routine procedures. Those undergoing more complex procedures or older/sicker animals will have pre-operative blood tests, intravenous fluids and multi parameter monitoring as well as warm air beds and ventilation if necessary.

All of our vets and nurses regularly undertake further studies to make sure that they are up to date with the latest developments in veterinary medicine.

Our Other Clinics
At Grove Lodge Vets we are very proud of the wide range of services we are able to offer you and your pets.

At our Veterinary Hospital in Broadwater, Worthing, you can bring your pets for all their routine, regular appointments. To look after your pet in an emergency and out of hours, we have a dedicated team of vet and two nurses who provide our emergency out of hours service based at our main Hospital in Broadwater. In addition, our referral service is based at our Hospital.

As well as routine appointments, our teams at West Worthing and Durrington hold regular puppy parties. Some surgery is carried out at our West Worthing branch in Tarring Road and there is also a dedicated cat clinic so your feline friend does not need to share with dogs! Our physiotherapist, Julia Martin and dermatologist, Anita Patel, hold their clinics at West Worthing. Our acupuncturist, Suzannah Stacey, is based at our Durrington branch in Palatine Road, Worthing.

Our Lancing branch in South Street is very close to Lancing train station and therefore is great if you need to use public transport. They have a large reception area, therefore cats and dogs can wait for appointments separately.

Our newest branch is in Southwick in Southwick Street. We have a dedicated cat only entrance, waiting area and consult room and are very proud that our Southwick branch has been accredited by International Cat Care as a Feline Friendly Clinic. This branch is only a few minutes' walk from Southwick Station and main bus routes. You can also attend puppy parties at our Southwick branch.

Our vet Laurel Bowker is based at our Portslade branch in Valley Road and, together with our vet Stephen Courtney, sees appointments every day and Saturday mornings. Laurel has a special interest in exotics, from bearded dragons to guinea pigs! Stephen is very knowledgeable about the pet passport scheme.

Our Brighton branch in Preston Drove is where you can see our homeopathic vet, Tim Couzens. Alongside routine appointments, we are now delighted to be able to offer laparoscopic (keyhole) spaying at our Brighton branch. You can also attend puppy parties at our Brighton Branch.
