Foxhangers is a family run business that has been providing holidays on and around the Kennet & Avon Canal since 1974. Our narrowboat holidays have proved extremely popular since we began operating with just one boat in 1997. Foxhangers continues to be owned and directed by the family who originally founded and grew the business, we employ our own staff, we own all of our boats and property: our sole focus is to provide you with the optimum canal boat holidays. Foxhangers narrowboats are built in our own facilities by our own dedicated professional boat builders: they are specifically designed to be the best possible holiday hire boats.

Our hire fleet consists of 18 narrowboats, including two 2-4 berths (both reverse layout), two 2-5 berths, two 4-6 berths, five 4-7 berths, two 5-8 berths (both reverse layout), four 6-9 berths and new for the 2018 season, the first in our Platinum Fox fleet (Darwin’s Fox).



Foxhangers Canal Holidays is operated from our holiday farm/marina alongside the canal and your trip will start at the foot of the magnificent Caen Hill flight of 29 locks near Devizes.

From here you can choose to navigate this famous flight and travel East towards Newbury, or for a less strenuous cruise head West, where you can easily travel to Bath or even reach Bristol and back in a week!

A new concept in beautiful boating.
The Platinum Fox class provides our premier boating experience.  Bespoke boats, designed and built by Foxhangers for those who appreciate the finer things in life. In addition to the excellent facilities on board all of our boats, she boasts a king-sized wide double bed, granite surfaces in the galley and bathrooms, underfloor heating in both bathrooms and even a hydraulic bow-thruster that allows you to manoeuvre her with ultimate precision. There is also a comprehensive 240v electrical system which allows for homely comforts that have previously been compromised on hireboats.

The Silver Fox Fleet are luxuriously appointed semi traditional narrowboats built by Foxhangers. The nine boats are beautifully crafted with interiors in Maple and Cherry with Walnut floors throughout. En-suite cabins, permanent double and single beds, full 240volt Electric plus much more…..this fleet has all the modern equipment and comfort you can ask for!

Our Foxy Fleet of 8 comfortable, modern and superbly equipped cruiser style narrowboats ranging from a 45ft two berth to 69ft nine berth craft.

The Kennet and Avon Canal opened in 1810, and after restoration was re-opened by the Queen in 1990. It passes beautiful, tranquil and unspoilt scenery with an abundance of plant and wild life, through bustling market towns, picturesque villages and past historic monuments. Frequently there are inviting canalside pubs offering lunch or supper. The waterway includes the Georgian splendour of the City of Bath and the pastoral pleasures of rolling Berkshire and Wiltshire, with unique architectural and engineering features of majestic aqueducts and bridges.
