Puppy or dog training: Training a puppy can be daunting especially if you have never had a dog before. There is so much to teach that if taught incorrectly could cause more problems in the long term. Awesome Pawz dog trainer uses positive, ethical training and we work with owners as well as their dogs to pass on our expertise.

We work with transparency, honesty and always in the best interest of the animal’s welfare. If for whatever reason Awesome Pawz cannot be of any help we will always point you to another suitable and relevant professional that we believe will be the best option for the animal (for example Vet or Dog Nutritionist).

How sessions run: Training will be delivered by Awesome Pawz initially, then we will ask the owner to have a go whilst we offer feedback. We will by no means be derogatory or rude in our feedback – after all we both want what’s best for your fur baby. Once your training session has ended, Awesome Pawz will leave you with homework to complete between sessions which works on training the animal and building that much loved bond between you both.

Support between sessions: You may feel you need some extra guidance or have questions after a session and Awesome Pawz will be there for you no matter when you need us. We do still need to have our own downtime, eat and sleep, so don’t expect a response at 3am, but we will get back to any messages outside of normal hours as soon as possible (normally within 48 hours). We will always keep clients up to date with when we will be on holidays so that no one feels like they are being ignored.

Qualifications and memberships: Awesome Pawz is certified in Modifying Canine Aggression (Level 4, Distinction) with the Animal Care College. We are a proud member of the British Veterinary Behaviour Association and the Pet Industry Federation, and a member of the International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP). We are registered with the British Isles Grooming Association (BIGA). Additional certifications include Canine Body Language Specialist, Reactivity Specialist, Certified Puppy Specialist, Certified Separation Anxiety Specialist, Certified Dog Trainer, and Pet First Aid Instructor with the Dog Training College.
