Hackness Grange Hotel - Dog-Friendly Country House Hotel

in Scarborough, North Yorkshire

Hackness Grange HotelHackness Grange Hotel

If you are looking for a place to unwind and relax then Hackness Grange Hotel is the perfect location. Set in 17 acres of beautifully manicured grounds situated in the North York Moors National Park. Our woodlands are thriving with wildlife and the lake is home to wild ducks and geese. The grounds are a tranquil place to walk and there are also plenty of trails, including the Cleveland Way, Dalby Forest, and the North York Moors.

The village of Hackness nestles under the brow of hills forming the Derwent valley and is surrounded by acres of farmland. The local church can trace its own story back to 680A.D the same year that the Abbess Hilda of Whitby founded a monastery at the side of the lake as a retreat for the monks and nuns from Whitby.

The River Derwent runs alongside the hotel which is perfect for a spot of trout fishing, which we can arrange before your arrival through the Derwent Anglers Club. Or you might prefer to test your skills with a game of lawn croquet.

All our rooms have en-suite facilities and picturesque views of the gardens, lake and Yorkshire countryside. Our dog-friendly rooms are situated in the courtyard next to the old stables.

At Hackness Grange we understand that dogs are part of the family and we are proud to be dog friendly. They are welcome to join you in the 2325 lounge bar in the main hotel and of course on the patio should you wish to enjoy your meals there. If you let us know in advance, we’ll happily set a table for you. We have water bowls in the main reception as well as doggie bags and treats.

You can enjoy a delicious bar or bistro menu in the Derwent Restaurant or the 2325 Lounge, where all our dishes are prepared using locally sourced ingredients. Our afternoon teas are served in the lounge bar or if the weather is good on the patio overlooking the lake.
