Couples, families, groups and four-legged friends are all taken care of by our broad range of elegant accommodation options at Raithwaite Sandsend, near Whitby. With cloud-like beds, stylish bathrooms, leafy views and everything right where you need it, you just need to turn up, drop your bags and relax. We can even arrange in-room spa treatments in most rooms, so there’s barely any reason to budge. Rooms are located either in the Main House (some with wonderful views of our gardens), The Hide (in the forest near the main entrance, within easy walking distance to Sandsend Beach) or in Rooms by the Beck, close to the surrounding woodland.

Just-picked veg from the Dales, the freshest seafood from Whitby, mushrooms foraged from our very own grounds and herbs from Raithwaite Sandsend’s organic garden … we don’t need to look far to find the best produce in Yorkshire for our stylishly redesigned Restaurant and Bar 1822, and that’s why we keep things simple, seasonal – and scrumptious. Four-legged friends are also welcome in our specially designated area, where you can tuck into great food all year round.

Sit back in our warm, contemporary and intimate restaurant and sample the finest local produce with our seasonal all-day menu. Inspired by the great North Yorkshire countryside, our sustainable restaurant sources the finest local ingredients, creating delicious vegetarian and fresh seafood dishes, as well as Yorkshire favourites – and we’re proud to be known as one of the best restaurants in Whitby. We can also adapt most of our dishes to suit your dietary requirements, so please just ask or let us know in advance.

Pets are very much welcomed at Raithwaite Sandsend – we’re one of the most dog-friendly hotels in Whitby and the surrounding area. Our pet-friendly rooms are perfectly placed to explore our beautiful grounds, from a quick stroll around the beautiful gardens, to venturing a little further into the woodlands or on one of the many glorious walks along the coast or in the North York Moors.
